Gorgeous well thought out projects
What a wonderful book... an lovely narrative and simple well thought out projects which are so aesthetically pleasing. Just what I wanted... can honestly say I would make everything and have ordered fabric to begin 3 projects. A triumph! Thank you

Refreshingly simple.
This Sewing Happiness is more than an instruction book as it follows the author through Covid and lockdown, a time that we all remember and can empathise with her emotions. She explains how she used sewing to help her deal with the stress and fear she experienced, emerging fairly unscathed and with a new found skill. Wonderful read, and I will be trying some of her makes.

Lovely - a real must for any sewer
I brought this book awhile and due to having the flu, settled down to read. Read the lot in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. It beautifully written and really makes you stop and think. Although I’m still yet to make anything, it’s given me lots of ideas and has real inspired me (once I’m feeling better).

Lovely little book with a great range of projects for someone who is both a sewing beginner or someone with a bit more sewing confidence. I initially bought one as a present, but ended up buying another for myself, so am looking forward to getting stuck in.

I love this book.:) It is an unusual combination of an artist's personal story and a sewing book, and yet that combination works beautifully. It's hard to describe what category I would put this book into. I love the projects, because although they are not difficult, they are also not what you might find in other sewing books. They have the author's well-developed creative touch, and each project was chosen for a personal reason by this writer, as you will see when you read her story and see what she chose to include. I plan to make several of them. The fabrics chosen for the projects also reflect the artist and provide some guidance in making a more sophisticated product. One brilliant aspect of this book was Not to include patterns, but instead to encourage the readers to follow the directions, which are all just fine, and to draft their own patterns. I don't usually think of sewing books as works of art, but I think this one is. Buy one for yourself, and also for a friend. Theres a lot of soul in this sewing book!

A truly lovely book filled with projects that will make you want to make every one of them and a story that was well told and really resonated with me. Lots of beautiful pictures and clear instructions. The projects are both simple and elegant. My only complaint is that I want to show all of my crafty friends and family my fabulous new book, but not until I have made their Christmas presents from it! Haha!

This book really brings sewing happiness - I love everything about it. From the transparency and honesty that Sanae Ishida relates her stories and what brought her to get back to sewing, to the simplicity of explaining her patterns, the patterns she provides and the encouragement she gives. It has fully inspired me to keep going and making a go of my sewing desire. Thank you Sanae - I have definitely become a permanent follower of your books.
