could I use this item to unblock an outside drain (toilet waste) my daughter has flushed facial wipes down the loo.

Do not buy this product! I have only used twice to carefully sweep chimney; on 3rd occasion the alloy connecting piece between the rods snapped and I had to climb onto my roof to retrieve the section of rods and brush that was stuck; contacted seller and told them that the product was unfit for purpose; they said I had oened for over 28days so were not interested; I tried again in hope that maybe just one of the rods was faulty and exactly the same happened again. All now thrown away. I will be buying a better quality set around £35 which will hopefully be fit for purpose. My old rods lasted 20years so I think inferior products like this are a sign of the times!

It says these are flexible. Does this bend round right angled pipes?

No they are quite rigid and will not go around your right angle pipe bends
