How big is the kibble, and does it really soften when water is added?

The kibble is approximately 14mm roughly squared. It does soften with water, but doesn’t turn to liquidy mush, or it hasn’t when we added warm water. You could still see the rough shape. Our dog is an old westie , who’s lost some teeth ( still has plenty left!) and she manages it dry.
