This light packs a lot into a small and sturdy frame; I’m very pleased after nearly a year of use. I’ve carried this with me almost every day, and on dozens of trips; I use it for all sorts of lighting applications (occasionally even the ones it’s designed for). For videography and photography work, it offers a full range of colour tones and plenty of brightness. The effects options are fun. The internal battery doesn’t last especially long, so I typically have it hooked up to a USB wall charger or power bank when using for longer stretches. On my travels I’ve also used this (with a tripod) as a desk lamp for detailed work, or to provide warmer/gentler lighting in hotel rooms with less pleasant lighting. For these non-photography uses, even the minimum brightness can be a bit much (but easily mitigated and it isn’t really designed for that, so fair enough).

This little light really exceeded my expectations. Despite its compact size, it delivers bright, consistent lighting with excellent colour accuracy. The RGB options and 21 effects give loads of creative flexibility, and the wide colour temperature range makes it easy to match different environments. The build quality is great with its solid metal body, and the OLED display makes adjustments straightforward. The battery life lasts a good while, which is impressive given the brightness it puts out. It’s lightweight and easy to carry, making it perfect for photography, video, or even as a handy fill light. A fantastic, portable lighting solution that punches well above its size. Highly recommended!

SmallRig continues to impress, and this P96L RGB video light is no exception. I use it daily to create content for my restaurant’s social media page (which has over 10k followers), and it has quickly become one of my most essential tools — always within arm’s reach or in my back pocket. Despite its compact size, this light packs a serious punch. The warm light setting gives food a natural, appetising glow without needing any filters or editing tricks. It elevates everything from plated dishes to behind-the-scenes clips. The RGB and effects modes are a fun bonus and have helped add a bit of flair to certain posts and stories when I want to get creative. Build quality is solid and typical of what I’ve come to expect from SmallRig — well-designed, easy to use, and intuitive controls. The only real drawback is battery life at full brightness — it does drain fairly quickly when maxed out. That said, since I typically use it in short bursts (30 to 60 seconds at a time throughout the day), I can usually go a couple of days between charges without an issue. Still, if you're filming long sessions, you’ll want to keep a power bank or charger handy. Overall, it’s an incredibly versatile, high-quality light that punches well above its weight — perfect for anyone serious about mobile content creation.

Great bit of kit. 360 different colours across the rainbow and various modes for standard lighting plus simulations for things like TV glow, club lights, strobes and emergency vehicle beacons. The battery life isnt amazing, but its also a few dozen ultrabright LEDs so thats not exactly surprising. It has a USB-C charging port so either plug it in or have a battery bank ready if you’re outside. The main issue as I see it is, the lowest setting is still quite bright, for which I’ve given two pictures between 1% brightness and 100% brightness on just the red setting in a white bathroom with no natural lighting. It will only go up to 60% brightness while charging, which is both a great feature to preserve the integrity of the battery, and a minus because you almost certainly will need to keep it plugged in if you’re filming for extended periods. There is a selector function that isnt well described in the instructions. Essentially you have a menu button, a rocker selector switch, and a volumn style wheel. The rocker selector switch also pushes in like a button - this is what is not well described. This is not a big deal at all, once you know it, you know it. Those are the only negatives. It lights in every colour, its solid, well constructed. I wouldnt test dropping it but the case feels very protective. Its likely aluminium as its not magnetic, and while not heavy by any means, it has a heft to it that to me, gives an feel of reliability. The buttons are - how to describe this - encouragingly exact and delightfully clunky. Its a real power switch. They are small but they are very useable. Its incredibly well designed, even down to the diffusing glass on the front that disperses the light evenly. Its very small, it can be used basically anywhere, and be attached to any standard camera tripod. Its a great piece of kit all round, very solid and does more or less exactly what its meant to. For the price, its really quite incredible.

It's not the cheapest light I ever bought and when you see the size of it you wonder how good it will be as it's very small. However, this little light packs a serious kelvin punch. The light can go very bright, and there's lot of options for reducing the brightness. It's very easy to use with lots of different colour options and it has a feature preset where you can choose things like disco lights, police and ambulance, warm fire etc so you could create some very nice effects. I use mine as a back light in my videos and it works extremely well in either creating a glow around the subject or for adding depth to background objects. So it really is a versatile little light that's extremely portable. It can be used with and without the tripod. I find the tripod useful as it means I don't have to find something to prop the light up against if I'm looking for a particular light angle. Lastly the power it gives off is unreal and so is the battery. It lasts a long time and is very quick to charge. Piccola luce ma di una potenza impressionante. L'ho presa per le nostre gite nei nuraghi e le domus de janas, a volte anche in notturna per fare qualche escursione particolare, e siamo rimasti impressionati dalla potenza di questo faretto! Illumina a giorno l'ambiente, ingombrano pochissimo spazio e pesando nulla, facilmente riponibile nello zaino da escursione senza creare ingombro o peso superfluo. Ci sono un infinità di combinazioni di luci, dalle più flebili fino alle più potenti, diversi colori del fascio luminoso e alcuni effetti luminosi, come lampeggianti dei mezzi di soccorso, fiamme, discoteca, ecc. il che lo rende un prodotto molto adatto a diversi contesti, anche quelli più "giocosi". Si può montare sui classici treppiedi grazie alla filettattura posta in un lato, ed è presente un piccolo schermino in cui controllare e regolare tutte le funzioni. Un ottimo acquisto! Che non posso fare altro che raccomandare ad altre persone!

I bought 2 on offer and they are great. I have small female hands and as you can see, it's tiny but strong! A little too strong because I want to use it for portraits but would need some kind of diffuser. Too bad it doesn't come with it. I will take this with me on the field because wow ..

Se trata de un plafón de iluminación LED RGB pensada para video y fotografía, el cual puede montarse en un pequeño trípode que viene incorporado, o encima de la cámara. Es compacto y trae un montón de efectos y posibilidades. El funcionamiento es sencillo. Primero hay que montarlo en el trípode que viene (u otro propio) o cámara. En la parte superior tiene el botón de encendido/apagado, y al lado de este el botón de Modos. En el lateral tenemos dos diales, de los que el superior también es botón. En la parte posterior tiene un display en el cual podemos ver el modo que estamos utilizando, y las características específicas de este. Por la parte inferior tenemos una entrada USB-C para cargarlo. Una vez encendido, se selecciona el modo que queramos, modificamos la luz según nuestra escena, y a empezar a grabar o fotografiar! Pueden ver el video adjunto donde navego por todas las opciones disponibles. Hay 3 modos diferentes: -CCT: Luz blanca, la cual podemos aumentar/reducir la intensidad de luz, y cambiar la temperatura de color. -HSI: Luz RGB, de la que podemos elegir diferentes colores, y la saturación del mismo. -EFFECT: Un montón de modos animados, que representan diferentes efectos pensados para videos. Por ejemplo: simulador de TV, discoteca, fuegos artificiales, vela, policía, ambulancia, etc... Podemos modificar la intensidad de luz. En el display de la parte inferior vemos la estimación de tiempo que tenemos de batería disponible, el cual cambia si cambiamos los parámetros (se va actualizando). La verdad es que funciona realmente bien. Por otro lado, trae la pieza que sirve para montarlo encima de nuestra cámara, y un pequeño trípode con partas extensibles. El trípode es funcional, pero es muy sencillo y justo. En cambio el plafón de luz y efectos, es una auténtica pasada. Es bastante pesado el plafón RGB, cosa que se agradece porque ya te anticipa de que la batería es grande y durará bastante antes de cargarlo. También se puede utilizar mientras se carga. ES muy potente: si lo pones al máximo te deslumbra un montón. Es robusto y está super bien acabado. Los botones y diales son muy precisos y funcionan a la perfección. Realmente es calidad muy TOP, cosa que ya me imaginaba al ver la marca. Dispongo de diversos accesorios de la marca SmallRIG y son productos de alta gama.
