Q: How pigmented is the black?

I found it a deep black - outlining the design of a cartoon cake - so would recommend.

Q: Would this work to hold together mini gingerbread houses?

Depends on how small .There wasn't much icing in these at all.. I only used for letter writing . Not a lot at all sadly
