Science Museum Cosmic Rocket

The rocket arrived quickly (1 week), although am ordering from Sweden, it was easy to use and very funny for the whole family.The kids 7 and 9 years liked it so much. All what you need is baking powder and vinegar according to the instructions and when you do it few times you will know the best recipe. The rocket goes so high like 15 meter up and we did it many times so everyone had a turn! so good for the price, wd highly recommend.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY The seals leaked on the first one and so we tried to tighten the seal and the bottom of the rocket sheared off! The seals leaked on the second rocket (heard that before?) we did not dare to tighten the bottom. We are going to get our money back from Amazon. This product is shoddy and does not deserve the name of the Science Museum!

Brought as a stocking filler for a six year old for xmas and it was well worth the money. Although he was too young to safely carry out the experiment and handed over to his Dad he was very excited and wanted to get outside and do it straight away but we didnt have the baking soda required. Tried a make do version of cream of tar tar with bicarbonate soda but didnt work. So if you are buying this make sure you have the vinegar and baking soda ready in your cupboard. Very simple to assemble rocket but even with the baking soda first 2 attempts failed to lift off. Does state that take off is affected by cold weather and warm weather are the ideal conditions, but on third attempt rocket went up great to much cheers after about a 15 seconds wait. Also, most importantly, it landed on soft ground intact so were able to do again although it did land 10 ft away so beaware of your boundaries. Very pleased, good value and would not hesitate to replace if it was lost or damaged.

Its ok but very flimsy. I found it quite difficult to get it to hold the pressure before lift of, and needed to "nudge it" before it would launch. It managed about 5 feet, not 50. My daughter pointed out she could throw it further than that and proceeeded to do so! I think the problem is the air tight conection at the base of the rocket. Quite a lot of fluid can be seen escaping from this which seem to prevent a decent preasure building up. I going to give it another go when I have some more vinegar and will hopefully get better results.

Great present for a science addict.

I seem to be the only one that either received something that did not look as described, or else the only one bothered? The products packaging very obviously showed that it was not from the science museum, but by someone completely different. However, this may just be a one-time mistake, perhaps they ran out of the original one, but they could have still contacted me. Apart from the packaging, the toy seems to be quite good so far (i bought it as a present and so far have heard no complaints). I would recommend this, if you are not bothered about it being aesthetically pleasing.

absolutely brilliant had so much fun with grandson have got through loads of bicarbonate and vinigar I would recommend that this is only used under supervision of an adult it literally does go like a rocket first time we used it went over the house and next door much higher than it says on the box we loved it
