Professional Crimps for Custom TFT Ribbon Cables
I used this Taiss Crimping Tool to make a custom ribbon cable for connecting my TFT Display to a perfboard, and it worked perfectly. This tool is excellent for 2.54mm JST XH and Dupont terminals. The ratcheting mechanism ensures a consistent, secure crimp every time, which is critical when you're working with the tiny 28-20AWG wires found in display ribbon cables. I didn't have any issues with wires pulling out or loose connections. Even for smaller PH2.0 or D-sub terminals, the crimper feels balanced and doesn't require excessive force. It made short work of the multiple headers I needed to crimp for my display interface. If you're doing any kind of DIY electronics prototyping or custom cabling for microcontrollers, this is a must-have tool. It provides a much more professional and reliable connection than using pliers or cheap non-ratcheting alternatives.

Makes professional-grade JST crimps!
I just received this crimp tool in the mail, and I couldn't be more impressed. I've decided to install some COB LED strip lights to augment the existing light in my new 3-D printer, and wanted all of the interconnections to be "OEM grade", including the JST XH connector on a new harness that will plug into the lighting circuit socket on the printer's motherboard. I'd bought a handy JST XH connector kit, thinking that I could crimp the individual sockets on the wires with a set of micro-pliers and then solder them. However, it quickly became painfully apparent that the tiny size of these uninsulated sockets coupled with the small gauge wire would make this a near-impossible task with marginal results at best. I immediately selected and ordered this ratcheting crimp tool after seeing a few promising reviews, since it seemed that this was my only hope to fabricate some decent wiring harnesses for this project. WOW...these things work insanely great, with each crimp looking like it had been done by professionals on a production bench! I did destroy a few sockets practicing with some spare wire, as it took me a few attempts to determine the exact orientation and very precise position of the socket in the crimper's applicable jaw slot. However, once this is learned, the results are amazing. I'm also very impressed with the quality of the finish and the excellent fit of the component's that make up this crimper. The crimping dies are machined precisely, and they're perfectly fitted and fastened on the jaws. There's a rotary dial to adjust the depth of the crimp at which the ratchet will release, but with the 26 ga. stranded wire and the JST XH sockets I'm using, the factory setting worked nicely so no adjustment was needed. Anyone who's made up a wiring harness of most any type can quickly master this crimper, although I'd strongly suggest having good lighting available and wearing a set of magnifying loops (plus readers for folks my age!) while making up connections given the really small size of JST sockets and pins, as well as the very critical positioning required when crimping. Bottom line: Very impressed, and highly recommended!

They work.
They work. Kinda picky on alignment of pins into the jaws and for those not experienced in using this kind of crimping tool and pins could be a moment. A clear set of pictures/instructions would be great. I say this only after my inept way of trying to explain them to someone else who had a need for them. They really would benefit from marking in graved on them? For the price point they are still a value for a hobbiest or other

Wow!
If you are going to make your own JST-XH wiring setups, you are going to need a set of crimpers. Trying to do it with a set of needle nose plyers won't work. Just holding the metal end is difficult! These crimpers are well thought out, hold the metal end in place while you thread in the wire, and crimps it Exactly. They are heavy duty, well made and do a fantastic job crimping little bity connectors! They are for bare ended connectors like jst or Dupont type units. The crimping action takes almost no effort. Well done! These are not going to fall apart.

Works perfectly for JST connectors!
Exactly what I needed. I had NEMA 17 motors arrive with stripped and tinned wires. Without a JST connector. So I ordered the JST connectors and these crimpers to add the connectors for my design. These were perfect for the job. Easy to use, and the ratchet was able to hold the connector in place while I inserted the wire. Durable, not cheap!

Dupont crimping tool
I'm doing a project that requires a significant quantity of Dupont connections. So I purchased the kit of connectors along with the ribbon cable. I also purchased this crimping tool. The tool is of excelent quality, very sturdy and tight fitting jaws. The issue that I had was that the size of the tool was too large to fit on the short tail ends of the cable. On a single connector the tool worked perfectly but trying to crimp the connectors on a multi-conductor cable was quite challenging.

Sturdy Build, Steep Learning Curve
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Taiss JST/Dupont crimping tool is solidly built and performs well once mastered. However, the jaws require precise alignment, and the small connector size makes accurate crimps challenging. Expect to waste a few terminals during setup. Magnification helps a lot with accuracy.

Factory Calibrated!
Seems to work well. The crimps look secure. Not sure if it was the crimper or the housing purchased, but I did end up requiring force on the back of the housings to get them in place. Given I can't tell where the issue is from, no stars lost to this. Loving the fact it clicks just at the holding point, has the force adjustability and a release latch, although I think the factory default is right on.
