A while ago, a friend of mine sent me an audio recording of her playing the Guzsheng. I was very moved by the sound of it and decided to try to learn it. I scoured Amazon to find a starter Guzheng to get going with the learning process. I chose this one made by Landtom. I think it’s fantastic! It’s very well-made and looks beautiful given its price. It also sounds very good. Even without knowing what I’m doing it, I can play a decent tune on it. Just the process of tuning it itself has a lot of fun. I know this instrument doesn’t sound as good as the Guzhengs that cost many hundreds of dollars, but it’s certainly good enough for a beginner. I highly recommend this brand. The instrument comes with everything you need to use it. A carrying case, A tuning wrench, finger pics for both hands, pick tape, and even a small tuning device. There is an instruction book included but keep in mind. It is entirely in Chinese. No translation. 😊 I personally use a Guzheng app that I downloaded, which has a very good audible tuner as part of it. I tried several of these apps and the best one is Guzhang virtual zither for all. See attached photo to be able to identify it. One more thing, the instrument arrived pre-strung with bridges in place. I was impressed that the bridges did not knock out of place or break during transport from China. In conclusion, I think this instrument is really excellent for the price. You will not be disappointed.

So far, I love it! It looks soooo much better in person and sounds pretty good for its size. It's definitly delicate and was packed very well- not a scratch on it. There are little one inch Innova at rack corner to elevate it of of whatever surface you place it on. Thing if note: The finger picks it comes with are small. Perfect for a child or adult with small hands, so if your hands are medium or large you may want to purchase more picks. There is a strong wood smell that isn't pleasant, but I've been airing it out and it's less noticeable. It comes with a Manuel in Chinese with pretty good beginner info. I spent the time to scan it and had it translated by AI. There's two stickers that come with it that tells you the notation of each string and it's super helpful. The tuner that comes with it delicate. I put the battery in and put it in the zip up pocket on the travel bag and after a few days the battery died. I believe it's because of the power button being pushed by everything else in the pocket. I suggest removing the battery when it's not in use. The zip pocket fits all the assessors (except the dust wand, which has to go into the main pocket with the instrument) and even a set of 21 strings and a small English beginner guide I purchased separately. There is a Valero strap permanently attached to the underside that i don't particularly like at the moment because I'm worried it'll snag my clothing. I may utilize it later to hang it up or just remove it entirely. Even without the running box you'd get on a bigger guzheng, you can still tap on the wood on the last side to make drumming noises- if that's something you do. I actual prefer this left hand tapping over right hand tapping. Finally, it's size is so convenient as i don't have space for a full size or typical travel size Guzheng.

Very convenient and sound is pretty. Just not sure if bridge placements are correctly placed since it did not come with a guide or cut out guide cardboard on where bridges should be precisely placed.

Quality and sound are not bad for the size. Needs tune it often at the beginning. Note that the board is flat, not curved as the full size Guzheng. Because of the size, don’s press as much as on the full size Guzheng when you play the 上下滑音. Light weight makes it easy for travel, but it does require a flat surface to put on (not stable to play on your laps)

It was better than I expected. It has good quality and sound. It comes with all the accessories and a book. The wood is lighter instead of dark, but it is still pretty, with a laser-engraved fan pattern. I will use this more than the big Gu Zhen. Very convenient to carry around.
