Great Hot Knife
I purchased this rope cutter for cutting and sealing the ends of sailing ropes. It does exactly what it says on the tin and does it very quickly and neatly. I keep it in a plastic box but really it needs a purpose designed fitted storage box to keep it protected and in good condition - HSGM are you listening? If you purchase one of these hot knives, I would recommend purchasing a brass-bristled brush at the same time for cleaning the cutting blade after use - this keeps it in good condition and helps ensure longer life and better performance - Amazon, you need to link this. This knife is so easy to use and apart from cutting, it can also be used to round off rope ends that may need to go through cleats, jammers etc. A great product, maybe a little pricey but robustly made and worth it.

Super Tool
Such an easy tool to use, I use it for cutting webbing which it handles effortlessly enabling clean straight cuts time after time. Forget other hand held versions this is the best, and at a great price.

Excellent quality
Brilliant piece of kit, should have bought one years ago. I’ve been using it to cut sunbrella canvas fabric. It heats up in 10 seconds and works beautifully, very happy with this albeit a bit pricey.

Best price anywhere for this quality German hot knife
Great value, given you pay the same price plus a lot more carriage if you were to buy them direct on the UK distributors website. This company is a sister company to the UK distributor which is college sewing at the same address.

Great cutter, no case for storage
I have only done half a dozen trial cuts on ropes and tapes. This tool s excellent. I only gave it 4 stars as, despite being an excellent product and, being damned expensive compared to some competitor models, there is nothing more than a cardboard box for storage. That's poor. The manufacturer needs to step up and provide a proper protective case and a selection of blades would be nice. The blade supplied is fine but there are other shapes that make it more versatile. The quality is what you'd expect from a German manufacturer so it should outlast the far East toys.

I decided to splash out on this electric hot knife - and it is one of the best purchases I have made
I originally bought a cheap gas hot knife for cutting boat ropes as I thought I wouldn't use it much and couldn't justify the expense of an electric one. After a while it became obvious I was going to use it more, and while the gas hot knife worked OK, it was a bit inconvenient to use. I decided to splash out on this electric hot knife - and it is one of the best purchases I have made. It heats up very quickly and makes a neat job of cutting and sealing synthetic rope. (My wife also used it for cutting and sealing polyester webbing.) It is not cheap, but for the convenience, accuracy, and confidence that it will do exactly what you need it to do, it is worth every penny.

Great qulity and very fast cutter.
This makes life much easier when cutting rope etc. It is not designed for permanent use (ie short bursts of 12 seconds or so) but I have now been using it for a while and this does not present any problems. Heat is very fast (3 seconds until rope melting starts) and about 5 seconds until red hot.

Excellent quality
I have used this for several months now, mainly for working on boat covers and ropework. Very nice build quality, heats in moments and cuts very cleanly. Not the cheapest but it shows in the quality.
