I know this looks a bit silly but you will really like this hat. I am very fair skinned and burn after 10 minutes of being in sun. Not to mention the fortune I spend on hair care, hair color, skin care, etc. I don't want the sun ruining all my efforts. I needed a hat quickly for a next day excursion so of course I thought of Amazon prime. This price can't be beat and it was next day shipping so I went ahead. This hat is actually great. All the pieces snap off and you can wear it just like a baseball hat. It has a long bill that covers your face. The gray is a beautiful light color and the material is soft, silky , and feels cool to touch. The neck cover snaps on I used this part and was glad I had it. The face cover is detachable but I just tucked it under the hat while I wore it. The hat is upf 50 so it has built in sun protection. This company needs to make some upf clothes with this same lightweight material. I will definitely be a customer

Got this for running. The brim and side flaps do a great job blocking the sun while at the same time being comfortable and breathable. Only had it about a month; washed it a few times (in a mesh garment bag) and it is holding up well. The flaps and face cover are removable. There is also an easily adjustable chin strap so you don't have to worry about the hat blowing off when it's windy. I've seen a lot of similar hats for a lot more money - in my opinion this is the best bang for your buck.

This hat/shield definitely protects you from the sun. It also makes you look goofy as heck though. Fabric is light weight and the "shield/drape" portion hangs down enough to cover even my wide neck. Worked really well for kayaking where there was no real wind.The only downside to the product is that the "one size fits all" band is kind of cheap and you have to do some extra finagling make sure it doesn't slide from where you set it.Really though I'd recommend these for sun protection.

Excellent, versatile hat to keep the sun off your face, ears, and neck. Lightweight, breathable, and the flaps are fastened with durable plastic buttons, so can be removed and worn as a regular hat. I like how easy it is to clean and how the neck flaps also snap in the front to keep it in place in windier conditions. I will say that it just barely fits me with all the flaps snapped on, so if you have a bigger head it may not fit you.

3 stars because it covered my face, material was light and great price for the hats. However, not a 5 stars because the adjuster on the back of the hat did not stay put. Kept loosen the hat. Also, some of the buttons that shield the face/neck broke.

Im currently in Afghanistan and if you been here or watch the news, the sun hits different in this part of the world. This hat makes walking to and from work so much better. My neck is truly protected with the flap. The part that covers your mouth and front neck area is just as amazing. Its vented in the right area so breathing is not a problem. It has a part at the top that you can unzip if you want to wear it without the added protection at the top. This hat is amazing! It was 110 degrees today and I didnt mind being outdoors. This is a must have!!!

Great protection from sun, especially when I’m backpacking

Material is too thin imo, if there is any wind it becomes highly annoying very quickly.The front mask is okay if you aren't working with it (basically if you aren't standing straight up and if you are bending over to reach or work on something the front part goes up.The hat part feels cheap, well it is cheap, so uhh. Yeah.Is it thick enough for true UVA protection? Not sure, but I think if you are just trying to get ANY type of UV protection and don't have a lot of money then this should work enough for you.It says for fishing, for I was trying to use it for any work outside.
