High Quality Filter. Much Improved Updated Design.
There is no doubting the ability of the Epic Water Filter to remove large percentages of contaminants in UK drinking water. The evidence they site from various testing bodies and legislators appears independent unlike many makers claims, usually from self-sponsored research. They came out on top of a Good Housekeeping survey which also suggested that despite the filters cost that due to its longevity it had a per litre cost well below Britta and several other manufacturers. Some have commented on the water taste. I think it is very palatable. My wife took a few days to get used to the change but now likes it. Maybe it just takes time for some to get used to 'clean' water. I originally purchased the 'mark 1' jug and quickly agreed with other posts regarding the ill fitting jug lid. I complain about this and quickly received a very pleasant reply telling me the mark 2 was due out very soon, correcting the lid amongst other things. They kept me fully informed as to the progress of the replacement and it arrived a few weeks later. Excellent customer service. The updated design is a vast improvement. The sloppy lid has gone. The upper part of the jug is now transparent so you can see how much unfiltered water there is before you pour. The fill and pouring flaps are a much better design now, and there is no longer any need to manually lift the pouring flat. The lid now incorporates a 90 day timer which is the suggested lower limit for a couple's normal use. Highly Recommended

Mold in filter
Two months in so cannot return; but for the past week when I lift the lid to fill the jug I can smell mold. I cleaned the jug thoroughly once a week but the smell emanates from the filter itself. I should have another month on the filter and it is still filtering water. I have ME and have been feeling much worse these past few weeks. Makes sense if you are drinking moldy water!

The best filtered water Jug - do not be fooled by other jugs on the market
I have just purchased my second jug, I bought my first jug many years ago and could not be happier. At the time, I researched all over the internet to find the best filtered water jug, and ended up purchasing this one. Happy with the taste, the filtering of fluoride as well as other nasty particulars (at a fraction of the price of total fluoride removers). Many years later I done the same again, I researched and seen newer jugs on the market whom state they are the best, after diving into the details, I soon concluded that these jugs remove everything from the water, which is not helpful, as you need certain elements as they are required for your body to maintain. Also, in case your wondering what happened to the first jug, the timer stopped working, I got in contact with the customer service team who instantly sent out a replacement. Now that is customer service A+++

Good filter, let down by a cheap jug that's no better than the rest on the market.
Following the volume of hype around these filter jugs I dug deep in my pockets and splashed out on this pretty expensive filter jug. Firstly the size of the jug isnt really designed for the European market as its about 1.5x the width of our fridge doors, but if you are happy to put it on your counter it's fine. The materials and the jug itself are pretty cheap, exactly like a Brita jug but bigger. For the high price tag I'd have expected better quality. The filters themselves are Huge.. but seem to do a good job, the water definately tastes better and they last a decent amount of time. Epic appear to have supply issues, I had to wait about 3-4 weeks for Amazon and their own website to re-stock, so if you do invest in one of these, plan ahead for new filters. Overall a good product but needs a better jug to justify the high price.

The BEST Water Filter - Nothing Else Compares
My title may be a bit of a bold statement but it really is based on the fact that I have tried 6 other brands and none of them come close to Epic water filters. Whilst I admit the actual jug itself is a bit flimsy, the quality of the water is exceptional. My tap water tastes like dirt, but once it goes through the Epic water filter it tastes of... NOTHING. Which is just wonderful because water really should taste of nothing in my opinion. This filter clears out a LOT of harmful substances including Fluoride. Most other water filters don’t even claim to reduce harmful chemicals - so why would you even bother with them? Yes it’s pricey, but yes it’s worth it.

Great filter
Great filter! Water taste funny for a very long time until all the nooks and crannies are fully rinsed, but once it is fully primed, it is much nicer than from any of the standard filters, as tasting carbon with a lot of them. I was worried about the price for the replacement filters, but it lasts a long time. It is my first one, so can't comment on when the flow will decrease, but it is always quite slow, which is great as it filters water thoroughly! Decent size and I really like not changing filters every few weeks. The nozzle is stiff, which is the only annoying thing, but everything else is fine. If it does everything it says it does-I am very very happy!

The Good and the Bad
The good. It arrived quickly and nicely packed. I left it to one side until yesterday as I’d got a filter to use on the old one. Water tastes nice and come out super clear. The Bad. When you poor, the weight of the filter and slack fit of the inner part you fill, falls forward making it pretty useless unless you’re happy with it falling apart. I’ve had to use tape to hold it together. Is it worth the money at £70 no way. If I had of used it straight away I could have sent it back but, I’d have wanted a replacement as in practice it may be the best jug system filter available. I do feel ripped of as quality control must have sent many out like this and that’s just bad business.

Update- Very expensive for such short life of filter, wouldn't buy again.
Update- I haven't even had this for two full months and already the filter is painfully slow, drip...drip...drip..., and evidently coming to an end. This has only had very light use as used for myself and very small dogs water bowl only. I steam veggies so minimal water used even for cooking and I don't steam fresh ones every day. I loved the idea of filtering out fluoride as well as limescale, hence I opted for this and gave my Britta filter kettle to my Mum. With my Morphy Richards Britta kettle I didn't get any limescale in it, even when the filter was still going strong weeks after the month use by date. Since swapping to this Epic system I find myself descaling my kettle every couple of weeks. It's not a big build-up, but visibly there none the less. This makes me wonder if the filtration claims made by the makers of the Epic filter are true? The design of the lid is terrible. I have to gently lift the spout cover prior to pouring and hold it there to avoid water spilling everywhere. The top itself doesn't fit well. It's too loose and there's been occasions when the entire thing was come off whilst pouring. My Mum says se loves her Morphy Richards Britta filter kettle I gave her and her beverages taste great. My change to Epic, sadly in my opinion was not for the better. Too expensive, badly made lid that causes issues and the filter doesn't even last as long as my old Britta ones did. Hopefully this filter was sub standard as I bought another one to use. If the second one is just as bad then my buying relationship with Epic will end. It's such a shame as I really wanted a fluoride remover but this is really just too much expensive faff. Got 2 stars for fluoride and other residue removal claims but at this rate I think I shall bulk buy still mineral water in and make sure I can recycle the containers. I think this would be cheaper than using Epic.
