Great baby monitor
Bought this after reading all the reviews and came back to leave another positive feedback. This was a gift for my pregnant cousin and they loved it. They seem to be pleased with the functions and the quality of sound.

Great buy for the price!
Excellent monitor, clear sound and good night light. Love the temperature and time feature not all have this. Bit disappointed with the music and the fact the the display on parent unit doesn't dim at night, I have to lie it face down so it's not so bright. Also charger port is in an awkward place and it makes it differcult to stand it up whilst charging. Other than that for the the price this is an excellent monitor I'm very happy. I have had a bt 250 in the past when I had my daughter and the battery charge on the parent unit wouldn't last long at all and I would have to use charge cable all the time, not an issue with this monitor.

Buy a different baby monitor!
There are so many things wrong with this monitor - it's almost as if the person who designed it had never had a baby!1. The lights pm on the monitor cannot be turned off without turning the whole monitor off, so when baby is rooming in with you it's like a disco in the bedroom at night because the baby unit is so sensitive even the noise of a car driving by outside sets it off.2. The intercom button is right where you naturally want to put your hand when holding the monitor meaning I have pressed it accidentally on several occasions.3. The battery life is absolutely appalling, meaning that you have to have it pretty much constantly plugged into the mains.4. The parent unit flashes when it is charging. See No.15. When you unplug / plug the parent unit into the mains it makes a loud beeping noise, disturbing baby when they are rooming in.6. I am now on the second of these monitors because the first broke completely after 11 weeks. I only have the same one again as Amazon kindly replaced it, but I definitely would not buy this model again through choice.

Great!
Bought a previous more expensive monitor after not taking my sisters advise to buy this. When the time came to actually use a monitor at night we ended up buying this two days later... Should have bought this first time round. Fantastic and no horrible strange background interference noises which stop you from sleeping when you are already anxious about leaving your baby. Would highly recommend

Easy to set up
Bought this in January 2014 for the arrival of my first baby in February. Easy to set up, use and loved it. Even loved that I got it at a reduced price of approx. £44. BUT today (July 14) the parent unit decided not to turn on at all. I know it was fully charged but it wouldn't turn on. Tried unscrewing the battery bit and unplugging it and replugging it in and still no joy. Called Tomy (the box said it came with a 2yr guarantee) who said they couldn't help as the 1st year guarantee was the responsibility of Amazon. Called Amazon who were very apologetic and said they had received many numbers of similar complaints about these monitors and were reviewing whether they should continue to sell it. Refund given but cue panicked trip out to nearest baby shop to get a different monitor before bedtime! Very disappointed as seems to be a known fault. Couldn't have lived with myself if it had gone wrong without me knowing (e.g. outside in the garden) and my poor baby was in distress.

ok, but flawed design
I wish I could find a baby monitor to replace an excellent (now obsolete) BT model which doesn't come without major design flaws - and this is no exception! We tried the newer BT250 which sadly was a failed redesign of the old model, has serious usability issues and broke after less than 18 months. With no alternative better BT model, we decided to try this one.Good points are: (1) the clock on the parent unit (useful for keeping track of how long your baby sleeps), (2) the belt clip on the parent unit actually stays clipped onto your clothes pretty well, (3) the light indicators on the parent unit to show you crying levels when volume is turned down, and (4) reasonably good sound quality, though not as sensitive as either BT models we've owned (which picked up breathing).Bad points are:(1) night light on baby unit is too bright even on lowest setting (useful if you want to be able to see by it at night, but an orangey light would be better as a comforting nightlight),(2) even with the night light off the 'on/off' button on the baby units glows bright green when on, red when off and flashes green/red when the parent unit is off. This is unnecessarily bright. I have to put a coaster on top to dim the green glow when baby is sleeping.(3) the hole for the charging cable in the parent unit is in a stupid place so it is impossible to stand it up whilst charging. (4) The curved design of the parent unit means when stood up the unit is easily knocked over. A more rubberised or less curvy base would prevent this.(5) the intercom button on the parent unit is located on the side just where you naturally want to put you fingers to pick it up, so it is easily pressed accidentally (not good for light sleeping little ones!).(6) the nursery rhymes are turned on with just one touch of the parent unit, so if accidentally knocked the music may start playing mid nap (also not good for those with a light sleeper!).I'm hoping there will be a better BT model out when this one dies!

Great but need a rethink of some things
This is a great baby monitor with very clear sounds coming through. Being deaf I can use the vibration function and it is compatible with my disabled equipment at night. The only things I don't like about it is:* nightlight isn't much of a glow. I have it in the corner on a shelf and it barely lights up that bit* when playing the music, the microphone pics it up and sends the lights into red. I cannot distinguish whether that's the baby crying or music that is making it go into the red
