Useful, powerful grinder. Brilliant for dealing with tough peppercorns and other hard spices or nuts.
I'm really pleased with this powerful electric grinder at the current price.I've been looking for a 'dedicated' spice grinder for some time and this one does an excellent job.The twin blades reduce whole, dried spices to a coarse grind in just a few seconds - I've uploaded some pics of how it's dealt with a mix of peppercorns and allspice. It took about ten seconds to grind 70g. If I'd done 70g in my usual pestle & mortar, I'd have been there forever. This grinder stands about 7" tall, graduating from a footprint of 3.5" up to around 4.5" round the crown. It does look slightly like a Dalek with the bobbles on the casing, but at least I won't mistake it and use it for anything other than my spices. The Perspex dome removes easily to reveal the integral well and spinning twin blades. The grinder won't work unless the dome is securely positioned and the button depressed. If you release the button, the grinder immediately stops. The reservoir will clean guickly with a little brush, and being steel, won't absorb any oils or fragrance if you grind a variety of items in it. The outer case is wipe cleaned with a damp cloth. Great little machine.

Great coffee grinder for larger quantities of coffee beans
Great grinder, only used this for coffee beans so far and it does the job well. It has a large bowl inside so can grind a lot of beans at once however if you are grinding a small quantity (for one or two cups) then the grinding is a little less effective as the ground coffee tends to fly up and out onto the lip of the grinding bowl. Cleaning is fairly difficult as the blade or bowl cannot be removed. The on push button is attached to the lid so you cannot turn it on until the lid is in place. A small coffee measuring spoon is provided with this which i thought was a nice touch, a two-year warranty is also provided which you must sign up for (details in box). Comes well packaged in original packaging, good solid quality feel on the outside.

Does the job well and very affordable.
This product was ardered and delivered in one day and at a very reasonable price too.So far it works fine and I’ve no reason to think it won’t continue to do so. The lid is a little fiddly to clip on, but not a major problem.I suspect it won’t be that easy to clean. I would be less inclined to mix grinding nuts and coffee with the same machine as there are gaps around the mechanism that will be difficult to clean out.I do have one concern. The safety mechanism is flimsy. When the lid is on, the button can depress the little button that starts the grinding blades going. Once when holding the edge of the machine, my fingers applied enough pressure to start the grinder with the lid not on. If my fingers had been in the machine, I hate to think what would have happened. Since then, I’m careful to turn the machine off at the socket when the lid isn’t on. We’re an all-adult household, but I would be less happy with it if we had children with access to it.

So glad I bought this Savisto grinder
I've been using this grinder a lot in recent weeks and must say the results are always excellent. This is the first coffee bean grinder I've used and considered a few different brands but settled for this and very glad I did. I generally load the beans I need for a perfect double espresso (trial and error to start with) and grind for 60-90 secs ( the manual says use for 30secs then rest, so I sit down for a few seconds) depending on the beans and how fine you want the grind. Too course and the water runs straight through giving a very weak coffee. Too fine and the water will not go through at all, so it's a matter of practice until you get it the way you like it. I'm not sure if it's correct , but I invert the machine when grinding is complete and use the lid as the ground coffee container before spooning into the espresso machine's filter bowl. I find it very easy to clean too by just rinsing under a warm water tap. I love newly brewed coffee with it's aroma and this grinder certainly enhances that aroma. Highly recommended.

This is my new favourite toy in the kitchen
This is my new favourite toy in the kitchen!! I started to grind everything since I bought it (flaxseed, quinoa, oats, rice, milk thistle seeds..) and it's extremely fast and effective with all of them!I also realised how much money I'm saving that way (just compare the price of whole vs ground flaxseed, or even quinoa flour!!) so it's been even more helpful than I originally thought. I use the ground quinoa, oats and rice to make baby food, and other things as healthy (and much cheaper) supplements for general health and my liver. As all the grinders in this price range have the same design flaw (grinding bowl is fixed to the engine and cannot be immersed in soapy water) I wouldnt deduct a star for this.I should have bought this little gadget a lot sooner!Have made lovely peanut butter with it as well, it was fairly thick like a paste but suited me very well.I'm happy grinding up everything healthy in sight :)

Cheap grinder ok for occasional use
This ground some coffee beans and spices as required. I was looking for something cheap for occasoinal use and it does the job ok, though you may have to grind for a 2-3 burts and shake the food between them to get most of the lumps. It is fine for what is was needed for. If you want somethign for regular use and finer grinding, you would need a mill grinder rather than this type with a rotating blade.

Easy to use and good to look at.
This grinder is great value for money very easy to use with good looks as well. Its also very quite when in use. All in All a great product. The only down side I find is its tricky to clean as the blade and bowl don't come out to wash, you have to use a damp cloth.

Six years still going strong!
I bought this six years ago as part of a coffee themed present for my hubby and can't fault it, does the job perfectly and still works as well as the day I bought it.
