Practical, stylish, works brilliantly.
This is a great car mount that, unlike the vast majority of car mounts out there, doesn't rehash the same old design. Most car mounts are fixed to the car either by clipping to an air vent (when you can get them to fit securely you have a hot phone and warped vents that now only point down), or by sticking to the windscreen meaning you're sacrificing your view with the mount, the phone and a charging cable, and leaving a nasty ring on the glass when you take it off (or when it falls off when going over a speed bump). The fact that this holder falls into the dash mount category is definitely a plus in my book. The way that the mount attaches to the dash is far better than any other method out there - I have no clue what the people saying otherwise are doing wrong. Where, with other kits, you would permanently stick a disc to the dash and then suction mount the holder to that disc, this holder relies on a reusable, sticky, gel pad. You clean the dash with the included alcohol wipe, wait a few seconds for it to dry, then press the holder firmly in place. I have a textured dash and this thing is moving for no one - I've pulled pretty hard on it, too.And then of course you have the way that the phone mounts in the holder. I won't explain how it works because it's pretty self evident and a load of other reviewers have already explained it, but let me just say that it is really secure, and easy to mount the phone with one hand without looking at what you're doing. Perfect for a car mount. The only negatives I can think of are: it's not available with any other inside colour than blue. It doesn't look bad, in fact it looks bloody good, even in a car that has absolutely no complimentary colours to blue in it, but an option to have it all black or orange or any other colour would be fantastic. The second negative is the fact that you can only mount your phone horizontally. It's not a problem for me, because 99% of the time I mount my phone horizontally anyway. But the option to mount vertically would be fantastic.Overall, I think this is a brilliant car mount. Possibly the best on the market for people who want something stylish that doesn't mess up a clean driving environment. Sturdy, looks great, works brilliantly. Can't recommend it enough.Tested with a Samsung Galaxy S8+, in a Fiat Grand Punto.

GOT A MINI ? LOOK ELSEWHERE !
If you have a MINI, dont buy it. The biggest issue with todays cars is the fact that the cupholder is not big enough for a 5.5 inch phone, myself used to pop the phone upright in the cupholder to use as a gps... many of the car mounts just dont work, they either never stick or wiggle their way out of suction. I hoped spigen would be different, although approaching the issue completely differently than other manufacturers the item is quite impressive, SLICK, matt finish (although mine did have a material defect on it) but nevertheless i loved the look. Application was a breeze, cleaned the surface allowed it to dry and popped it on...In the MINI the only plastic surface to place it is the middle of the console there is a slightly rounded surface between the vents, I was worried a little that it wouldnt find any sticky material to latch onto but the rubberized glue(ey) bit was thick so i thought it wouldnt be a problem...upon the first corner i my fears materialized as my lg G4 got unstuck and flew across the windscreen banging into the door handle resulting in damaging the phone ! but all in all the phone was still on the spigen car mount !When it comes to car mounts unless you have an htc where please just buy the original HTC car mount, nothing comes close to the engineering and manufacturing of this ! spigen makes the best screen protectors in the world. but here is feel they failed a little!

Good product but not perfect
I purchased this as my car doesn't fit air vent phone holders and I didn't want an armed phone holder. It holds the phone well, is sturdy and because the phone is held horizontally, makes it easy to plug it in to be charged.Unfortunately, the adhesive is practically none existent. I cleaned my dashboard and stuck it on but it came off the first time I added my phone into the holder.I do manage to put my phone in the holder and the holder does stay on the dashboard but I think that's because my dashboard is flat. A little pull (to get my phone out) and the holder is off the dashboard. It would probably be better if it had separate sticky patches.I gave it 4 stars because it does fit what I need it to do which is hold my phone whilst I drive.

Very secure / permanent car phone mount for Sat Nav use
This holder is really good; a friend showed me one mounted in her car and she raved over it and one now sits very well on my dashboard. It is permanently mounted and not designed to be swapped between different cars every other week - once fixed it stays fixed. I played about with the position (using a temporary tape) over a number of days before committing it to its final location, then removed the mounting tape covers & its stayed there quite securely ever since in Landscape mode. Unfortunately I can't turn my mobile phone into the vertical mode because the holder would foul the phone power cable connection that sits on the bottom edge of the phone and my phone would soon run out of battery power if it wasn't plugged into my car charger. I don't know if my mobile would be any better in the vertical position; perhaps I should try it out on a shorter journey before I make any other comment about horizontal / vertical. I think the holder is extremely well made, secure in its position and very easy to use. If I cant easily remove it when I change cars, then I will just donate it to the next owner and simply buy another one because I think it is a great little unit and works well. I think I read somewhere in one of the reviews that new adhesive is available to allow you to swap over but I would definitely need to check again before attempting to relocate it.
