Fisher Space Pen Cap-O-Matic Ballpoint Pen - Matt Black

Great pen, quite thin but writes lovely. Feels well made

An excellent and attractive pen and one I use regularly. Having mislaid the ball-point I normally use this provided an ideal substitute.

I bought this pen to replace a "twist" to open one I have had for some 10 years, with the Fisher space pen refill, as it had a habit of staying open in my shirt pocket, allowing the ink to run , and mar my shirts ! So I needed to replace with a" push to close" type I like the matt finish of the pen. The barrel is brass metal, but the internals are plastic, and do not have the precision of feel you might expect from a high quality pen. The pen writes very well, and is smooth in operation. I initially found the pen a little short in length , but now I am used to it .Overall I am happy with the pen , and hope it will last as well as my previous space pen.

I bought this pen a year ago and I still carry it with me everywhere. It's comfortable to hold and pretty strong, I don't think I'd be able to snap it easily as it feels like it's made of metal. It also looks quite nondescript, so although it's more expensive than the average throwaway ballpoint pen, I don't think people would notice unless they recognize it as a Fisher. Maybe that's why mine hasn't been stolen yet, even though I never hesitate to lend people my pens. Other people tend to pocket flasher pens like Parker rather than give them back. I'm writing this review today because I just used it to sign the back of my bankcard. You know those anti-tamper signature strips on the backs of bankcards that are almost impossible to write on? Well, it wasn't entirely easy to write on, but I managed to write something that mostly looked like my signature on it using this pen.

As a kitchen worker ;). normal pens are hard to come by and even when you find one, they explode their weak and feeble ink all over your trouser pockets. The summer time has made thing ridiculous, going through 1 full pen every half an hour, so much ink :(. Finally, i decided to buy a pen that could withstand the rigors of my working life, a pen that can withstand space? it might just work. Basically, this pen is so hard, it has withstand-ed a full month of work, it not only handles the heat of the kitchen without breaking down, I can quite happily stand in a freezer and have a damn good write up about stuff, ... on the ceiling if i wanted. On the bonus side, this pen is so expensive in comparison to basic pens, you'll never loose it ^_^. Well worth the expenditure. This pen comes with an ink cartridge too, I wasn't sure before i bought it so I got a refill just in case, with how long this pen has lasted so far... I could probably hand this pen down to my great-great grandchildren :P

Looks great and texture is really nice matt black. It's well weighted and writes nicely once you get it going (took a little scribble to start off) and comes in nice box if you're planning to give it as a gift. The pen itself is quite thin so if you have big hands it could be a difficult to write with but for me it's just perfect. Haven't tried writing underwater yet but it certainly works upside down

I've been buying this pen for the guys in my life one at a time & they're enjoying them. With my Dad having to keep track of his work miles in the car & my brother having to lean on windows to write things down in his truck (he's a truck driver), the anti-gravity definitely comes in helpful. I've just bought one for my brother-in-law who runs a business at home & will also be keeping track of his work miles, & other men in my life will be finding helpful too when I buy it for them. The guys absolutely love them & they're really good quality. Plus, the refills are reasonably priced (around £5) & available here on, so no expensive price or hassle when it runs out. Makes a great gift.

Weighty, quality item. I can now write my books lying down! No issues. Always ready to write and no scribbling to get it going. Other people seem to want to twist the top even after pressing it to extend the nib. This seems to be because it is such a nice smooth action that people think it couldn’t possibly have done anything because it hasn’t made a nasty loud plastic clicking noise.

Not so good

Ich besitze bereits den Fisher Space Pen Bullet. Super Stift, schon jahrelang. Allerdings durch mein Eigenverschulden weiss ich 90% der Zeit nicht wo der Stift ist. Teils auch jahrelang verschwunden bis ich ihn wiederfinde. Deswegen kam ich jetzt zu dem Entschluss "Kauf dir den grösseren, den verlierst ned so leicht" (Hoffe ich) Verarbeitung und Design des Stiftes sind schlicht und funktional, jedoch fühlt es sich hochwertig an vom Material. Ich persönlich wünschte mir aber eine etwas stärkere Feder in der Stiftmechanik, weiss nicht ob es nur mein Stift ist aber die fühlt sich leicht lasch an. Auch im Gedanken für die Benutzung über mehrere Jahre wie Schwach solch eine Feder werden kann. Sollte aber kein Grund sein zum Punktabzug sein. Ich werde mir einfach eine neue Feder besorgen. Kaufempfehlung? JA, wenn Sie nicht so schlampig sind wie ich und verlieren/verlegen, ist das ein Stift für ein lebenlang. Auch super zum verschenken!

Bolígrafo para uso diario, no es de lujo pero cumple con las expectativas.(No lleva identificación alguna ?) Buena calidad y funcionalidad, pulsador suave, ligero y totalmente metálico. Viene en caja de cartón, pero bien presentado. Sólo lo he utilizado un par de días y me ha sorprendido lo bien que escribe en cualquier ángulo, incluso hacia arriba. No sé lo que durará el cartucho de tinta, son caros. Pero si quieres algo exclusivo este es tu "boli".

This is the fourth Fisher product that I have purchased. These pens are the greatest. They perform under any condition. This particular model is very well made. I particularly appreciate the deployment mechanism for speed and ease. The refill can be operated with one hand. I highly recommend this product.

Delle capacità dei refill Fisher Space Pen si è scritto molto ma il costo della penna originale era molto elevato (anche la qualità, ma non sempre è possibile pagare così tanto) e limitava l'acquisto. La penna in questione, in ottone verniciato, è ottima, scrive sempre (grazie al superbo refill Fisher) e anche se la si perde non si deve rimpiangere un capitale: ottima, ne ho acquistate diverse nel tempo (anche le più costose...).
