I was sceptical when ordering because it was so inexpensive. It arrived very quickly preceded by an email with a pdf handbook. Brilliant idea. I charged the device on my computer and then placed it indoors and left it running. It picked up everything in the room; the kids playing, the TV and others speaking across. I switched off the very discreet slider and plugged it back in the computer, selected play and voila - a good playback quality. I ordered x2 so I have one permanently plugged into my car USB because (alas) if I ever get stopped by the Police or involved in an accident I can have an 'Aide de Memoire' recording of everything said at the time. This is the BEST little gadget I have bought this year and intend to buy some more. It is discreet because it has no recording light when in use, the light comes on when charging and goes off when unplugged after a few seconds. No-one will suspect this USB is a recording device, even if they handled it or pulled off the shield. BEST BUY. Kazzie

Recorded in excess of 16 hours during a trial run. Sound quality amazing from 4 metres away. File size circa 1.3Gb.Unfortunately the device didn't record anything the day I really needed it the most. I was well and truly let down by this item. From what I can tell it had tried to record but I was left with a corrupt file measuring only 0kb in filesize.I tried a few tricks to recover the file such as "checkdisk" but was only able to recover the first 5 minutes of the 5 hours I needed! Suspect it uses cheap memory components.I did e-mail seller to tell them this but I never received a response.With everything considered, this item has a lot of potential but needs to be more reliable.Sorry, I simply CANNOT recommend this product.

I was dubious but this product does work very well!I used this to catch my cheating wife. Placed the first item under the seat in her car and boom - I had all the evidence of her having sex with a work colleague. The sound quality for such a cheap device is amazing. Even their conversations whilst driving with the hood down was audible, although as expected there was a lot of wind noise too. The sex, whilst the most scarring thing I have ever had to endure listening to, was extremely clear in all its uncharming detail. The liar was not able to wriggle out of this as the audio so indisputable that it has come in very handy during my divorce.The second was placed under the bed and conversations were very clear even from several meters away.

Having ordered this on the 5th December 2017, then using it in the following January quite a bit, I began having problems with it in the February afterwards. In total, the original device I ordered ceased functioning properly on the 2nd February 2018 (a total of 59 days in my possession, in use for only 15 of those days).I’ve owned one of these before and it worked for a long time (a lot longer than ~60 days anyway), as before, in this version the mechanics had remained unchanged: a simple binary setting operation. It still records to the Waveform Audio File format (Microsoft/IBM c.1992) and uses the MS-DOS FAT to ensure cross platform support, nothing else needed. However, I did notice this time around the inclusion of both software and accompanying documentation to update time and date settings (but this is just for use with Microsoft Windows, while I am a macOS user), the rest is hidden from tinkering fingers.Having used this for all day recordings I noticed that although the device may function for eighteen hours, only a maximum of twelve would be recorded (see image), often with a large portion of the end not registering sound. There is no mention of this in the instruction manual (BVR User Manual V4 UK.pdf), I just assumed it would either stop at 2GB (FAT32 has an issue with files larger than this, however, recordings only ever topped out at 1.57GB) or the battery could run flat, but the red flashing light would always flickers when I switched it off, so I thought the device was recording the entire time.I believe I ran into problems when I formatted the device to the MS-DOS FAT (in macOS), but soon after that the little dictation device began flashing in both blue and red (purple) and refused to record anything. I don’t know if it was just a coincidence, but yet again the instruction manual didn’t have anything on this.After informing the seller (prompted by a customer recommendation) they sent me a new device in just a matter of days, no quibble, encouraging me to keep the old one as a portable storage medium, which was very kind of them.Once I received the new device (and confirmed that it functioned normally) I tried copying the included files (a zip file and its accompanying document file) across, but it obviously didn’t do anything, it must have been an internal hardware issue, one of which the seller didn’t know what to do about as they just replaced it. Checking it out in Disk Utility (File Manager on Windows, if memory serves) the two immediately obvious differences were the Partition Map set to GUID Partition Map, rather than Master Boot Record, and the Child Count totalling two, instead of one. I did try to change the Partition Map with a new format operation, but to no avail.It’s a shame there is no open source software for this, it’s a very mysterious system, once it stops functioning you’ll likely need a new one.

I bought 2 of these. One constantly disconnects part way through copying files from it (takes about 5 attempts each time). The other one is absolutely fine and works as it should. Its a bit of hit an miss with these. But on the positive side, these last a long time, I had them on for 14-15 hours and they kept working and recording well.

Great bit of kit, easy to use, quick to charge and records for a long time, the longest so far I've recorded in one go is 13 hours.Easy download just poi in and cut/ copy then paste to new location on your PC.Also easy to hide if you wish to record something undercover, there are no lights apart from the first 5 seconds when you turn on, after that it looks and behaves like a normal USB.

Too much background pick-up adversely affects voice recording. Also not much use in trouser pocket, especially when moving around.For the price quite effective free standing e.g. on table top, or when suspended from the neck without too much clothing covering. Seller very helpful; maintains interest in the transaction and replaced my original B.V.C. willingly. Gave me plenty of advice and suggestions, but replacement had the same issues and seller offered cash refund. I decided to keep it and use it in its limited effectiveness.
