The staples are 12mmx6mm. This is a very good stapler for general use.

Q: What is the correct size for refill staples? current answers say 24/8 and 26/6. it can't be both!!! don't answer if you don't know. ta.

The 24 or 26 is the standard wire gauge number (24 is a thicker wire than 26), so yes it can be both. 24/6 and 26/6 staples are both a little under 13mm wide. The second number is the length of the legs, so determines how thick paper they can go through. 24/6 is a common size.
