![Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) [DVD] [1977]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51A7E8DN-ZL.jpg)

Relive the nonstop excitement, thrilling discoveries and ultimate triumph of good over evil that make Star Wars such a great space fantasy adventure and the ultimate entertainment experience for every family. The Star Wars Original Trilogy features Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The saga continues with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo leading the Rebel Alliance to claim victory over the Empire and win freedom for the galaxy. Review: A Blaster from the Paster - NOt seen the 'Original' Star Wars fro years so grabbed the chance and purchased this 3 DVD set of the three that turned the movie business upside down. Arrived on time and was in a neat little package. I have so far only watched episode IV but am assuming the other two are as good a print as the first. The quality of Episode IV is outstanding and it was great to relive the 'original' once again having seen it in the cinema when it was first released way back in 1977. Unfortunately it's not as 'original' as I was hoping because this version has had CGI added where it was most definitely not needed. Jabba the Hut has been digitally created to look as he did in later versions whereas the original that I remember had Jabba played by Declan Mulholland. There are also other CGI creatures added here and there that seem pointless additions to me but George Lucas was famous for meddling with his own creation where it wasn't need so it was to be expected I suppose. Anyway all in all these three are well worth the price. Review: No Frills But Still Thrills - I was browsing desertcart for Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope alone as it's my favourite Star Wars Episode & I ended up taking a look for & at Star Wars Rogue One as I really rate that movie & I think that it's a crying shame that it weren't in the collection of the Official Star Wars Movies! Anyway.... I came across this Original Star Wars Trilogy for just under a fiver so it was a no brainer really I'm getting Episode IV A New Hope which again is what I was originally browsing for along with Episode V - Empire & Episode VI - Jedi now I knew that it was going to arrive as a single sized DVD case with three DVD's inside & without any significant booklet for that price I was paying & I was right (photos provided are proof of that) & I'm OK with that as they're great films but I'm not a hardcore follower. As for the product, the picture is great I'm talking something different especially if you haven't seen them on modern day TV's & the sounds with Bluetooth stereo connection in my case (soundbar in others) really are something else, you see & hear like never before! Overall I can't moan at all about this purchase! Now I noticed The Prequel Trilogy for the same price with a white cover & Yoda on it & I would have bought it if there was a matching The Sequels Trilogy with say a grey cover & character but sadly this isn't the case, so just continued with the purchase of the Original Trilogy as still you can't beat the Original Trilogy out of the Trilogy of Trilogies & I think that almost everyone would agree with that.

Cannot believe I waited so long before buying these films.
These have got to be my 2nd favorite movies, (next to Harry Potter) as they fill all the criteria for what you want to be watching late in the evening with a mug of coffee in one hand, and a flapjack in the other. Although chronologically these are not the first films, in Episode IV, A New Hope, we are introduced to all the characters, including Luke, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2D2, C3PO, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Darth Vader. We watch Luke, Han, Leia, Obi-Wan, the two Droids and a Wookie called Chewbacca battle in the rebellion against the Galactic Empire which resides in the dreaded Death Star. With Sub-plots such as Han's disturbing friendship with Jabba, the biggest gangster in the Galaxy, and Luke's mysterious family tree, you will find yourself, as I did, really needing to go to the toilet but not wanting to as OH MY GOD I did NOT see that coming! After watching Episode IV, I could not wait for anymore than 24 hours before sitting myself down and watching Episode V, The Empire Strikes Back. We find that Luke has joined the rest of the rebels and taken residence on the Ice Planet of Hoth. However, after escaping a bloodthirsty Yeti, Luke finds that he must be fully trained as a Light-saber-wielding Jedi with Yoda to continue fulfilling his destiny. But while being taught in the ways of the Force, Luke needs to leave Yoda's strange planet to rush to the aid of his friends, who have conveniently been double-crossed by Han's friend Lando Calrissian. But when Luke arrives, he finds only the evil Darth Vader. After the battle which wages while Han, Leia try desperately to get away from the Stormtrooper's clutches, Darth Vader tells Luke something which leaves you completely dumbstruck, hardly able to hear or see the last 10 minutes of movie due to the fact that your mind is racing, and you have barely regained consciousness when the credits are rolling, leaving you to what feels like the cliffhanger of the century. So you instantly remove the Empire Strikes Back DVD, and insert Episode VI, Return of the Jedi. In this final Installment, (until Episode VII comes out) we meet the Emperor Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious. We learn that a second Death Star is under construction, after Luke, R2D2, C3PO Leia and Chewbacca undergo great dangers such as a Bloodthirsty Rancor, a Sarlacc Pit and the vile Jabba the Hutt to save Han, who has been frozen in a block of ice. After you watch about 5 people and strange creatures get eaten, you are left wondering; why the hell didn't Luke just get his Light-Saber out so much sooner, cut down anyone in his path and be on his way? Answer: Because Plot. We meet the Ewoks, strange teddy bears who are more badass than all the Jedi put together, and then watch as Luke engages in a final Battle that is his alone to fight. These films are the best I've seen in a long time, and I'm already thinking about buying the box set of the prequel Trilogy, (Episode I, the Phantom Menace, Episode II, Attack of the Clones and Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.) Buy these movies and be left pondering the all-important question; Light-sabers, or Harry Potter Wands?

Excellent Remastered Movies
I bought the Star Wars Original Trilogy (Remastered) - I gave it 4 stars because each DVD only contains the movie, with a scene select and a sound set-up button. There are no extra special features which is a shame. The movies themselves are amazing fun to watch. Each movie follows on from the previous one and adds to the story immensly. I won't talk about the plot etc of them as you either probably already know it by now, and if not, the Amazon description explains what goes on. If you love Sci-fi, adventure, shooting, romance, then go for it, you won't be disappointed. However if you are looking for the original unaltered versions (which are far more expensive now), or you are looking for extra special features on the disk (such as bloopers, mini documentaries, etc etc) then *waves hand in a jedi motion* "this isn't the set you are looking for..." :P
