Atomos ATOMCAD112 Master Caddy II Hard Drive Case (5 Pack)

They are Atomos caddies - nicely made just as well as nobody else does make them - have four Atomos recorders so need lots of additional drives (and caddies).

Needed for my set of Atomos Ninja recorders, proprietary caddy that's needed to hot-swap disk drives. Not too badly priced for the set and a good source of protection for my disk drives.

Hard drives are easy to fit and work well in the unit

Not sure why they changed the original design. But whilst this works I feel I wasted money on the redundant cases I have purchased for other atomos products.

bit overpriced for few pieces of plastic, and only needed one, doesnt need to come in only packs of 5 in my opinion

I have 20 of these with 256G, 512G, and 1TB SSDs. They slide into my Atomos Shogun Flames for recording. I then slide them into one of 4 G-Technology ev Series Readers for ingest. I also use a few for client-specific storage so one drive/caddy has all ongoing projects for that client. While inserted, SyncBackPro runs automatically to sync them to my Synology NAS and to the cloud (Backblaze) every hour. I find this to be a very stable and efficient 3-2-1 backup plan that works well with my video production workflow. Even if you just use the caddies with the ev readers and don’t have an Atomos recorder, it’s still a very convenient storage solution since you can keep them in a stack or rack and mount/unmount them as you work. I highly recommend.

Chiunque usi dei recorder Atomos sa di cosa si tratta. Oggi, con i nuovi recorder tipo Ninja V, non sono più presenti nella confezione, quindi vanno comprati a parte. Questo kit include i caddy (enclosure per SDD 2.5") e le viti per il fissaggio. Ricordatevi di acquistare anche il lettore per SATA esterni, facendo attenzione che funzionino quando l'SSD è montato dentro a queste enclosure (il connettore è leggermente "infossato" nel case).

Die zweiteiligen Kunststoffschalen enthalten vier kleine Schrauben mit der sich Notebookfestplatten und SSDs festschrauben lassen, gleichzeitig verriegeln sie das Gehäuse. Die neue Version II enthält nun zwei Führungsschienen gegenüber nur einer bei der alten Version I. Die Version II passt auch in ältere Atomos Recorder, nur eben nicht umgekehrt. Da es passende SATA/USB3.0 und FireWire Adapter (Atomos und G-Technology e series reader) für diese Gehäuse gibt, kann man sie auch als günstige "Verpackung" für Disks für allgemeine Anwendungen gebrauchen. Durch die externe Bridge fallen die Gehäuse sehr kompakt aus.
