“WD Elements: Because your files deserve a safe home.”
Quietly Does Its Job Like a Digital Hero This WD 2TB Elements hard drive is not flashy. It doesn’t light up, beep, or demand attention. It simply shows up, holds all your stuff, and asks for nothing in return—and honestly, that’s the kind of energy I need in my life. Setup was plug-and-play easy. I plugged it in, my computer immediately recognized it, and suddenly all my photos, videos, work files, and “I’ll organize this later” folders had a safe place to live. Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are fast, it runs quietly, and it’s small enough to toss into a bag without feeling like I’m carrying a brick. It’s been reliable, stays cool, and hasn’t given me a single scare—which is exactly what you want from something holding 2TB of your digital existence. No drama. No nonsense. Just storage doing storage things very well. If you need extra space and peace of mind, this drive delivers.

Great
Great hard drive, loads of storage space and a nice compact size. I got one second hand, expecting some sort of visual imperfection or damage, but the only thing I could see was a slightly battered box. Zero issues with performance, and files move so fast compared to my old hard drive. Great!

Small in size big in storage
Great little hard drive. Comes formatted to NTFS. I formatted mine to exFAT. Now works with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.

Great size backup drive for the money but be careful with it.
This is a great backup drive for the money but a few things to bare in mind. Standard mechanical hard drives like this one are VERY fragile when being used. Dropping this a few inches onto a hard surface could destroy it and all your data so you have been warned. This model uses a Micro USB connector which is part of the drive itself, not an adaptor in the enclosure. This means you cannot remove the drive to use it in a server or NAS which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars as I had hoped to do this.

Incredible external hard drive
This has to be the toughest and strongest of hard disk drives, I’ve had no data loss, no noise problems and no serious compatibility issues, to be honest these aren’t problems I knew it could have until reading the amazon review prompts, I guess it means I either won the hdd lottery or it means that you need to get one of these

Compact, Fast and Perfect for Everyday Backups
This WD external hard drive is small, lightweight and very easy to use. It works straight out of the box with plug and play on Windows, and it only takes a quick reformat to use with Mac. The 1TB storage is plenty for photos, videos, documents and backups. Transfer speeds are fast with USB 3.0, and files copy smoothly without any issues. It feels well made and reliable, and it fits easily in a pocket or bag for travel. Overall, this is a great option if you want simple, portable and dependable storage at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it.

Does what it says on the tin, and YES, it's 4TB capacity
Delivered about an hour or two ago, gave it some time to acclimatise to indoor temp after its journey on the cold van, which you should ALWAYS do with products like this. Plugged in to a USB3.0 port on a Win10 machine, opens straight up to a nice empty folder, good to use straight away. There's some misinformation posted in a lot of reviews here, or maybe more accurately, misunderstandings, so I'll clear these up here. 1. The drive size *IS* 4GB. 4,000,750,497,792 bytes to be exact. Anyone complaining that it's only 3.6TB I'm afraid doesn't understand how hard drive formatting works. Which is fair enough, you wouldn't know about this if you've little or no experience of these things. Once a drive of any kind - hard drive, SSD, flash drive USB stick - is formatted for use, you lose a proportion of all those little bytes to how file systems need to mark and index all the sections of the drive so that every bit of data can be found. Like a little address index of where everything lives on it, if you like. And that takes up some space. So, once 4TB is formatted for use, there's 3.63TB of actual file storage space left empty. 2. This drive is preformatted to NTFS. Which is my own preference for this, but you can format it yourself to anything else you use, like FAT32, exFAT32, or HFS+ and APFS for Apples. 3. I'm seeing both read and write speed, over USB 3.0, is 115-125MB per second. 4. The actual hard drive in this package is a WDC WD40NMZW-59GX6S1 SAFETY TIP: Don't lift, tilt or turn the drive (or ANY hard drive) while it's working. You might get away with it, but if you butterfingers it and drop it while it's running there's a good chance it's doneski. It's a tiny little box and meant to be easily used with laptops, tablets, etc, so it's really asking to be handled in use but TRY your best not to move it around when it's working. When it's not working, the heads park themselves safely away off from the disc surfaces inside, so dropping it then from a small height has a fair chance of being OK, but NEVER when it's running.
