Hardware hui, Software ....

If you know what you're buying, this is awesome (even for beginners)
Very good for the price. Read the key specs before buying though! It has a nearly 1-minute refresh time and doesn't really work with many Arduino models due to memory constraints and the 3.3 V pin (but no 5 V) - and the Pi has 3.3 V GPIO pins and Arduino 5 V I think.I'd recommend their 2-colour 2.9 inch ePaper module (I also bought that one) if you want a much smoother framerate (ish). That one is just about suitable for animations. It has the exact same pinout which is nice.Documentation is very good compared to most accessories like this from other brands. Also very well built, it does flex but not anywhere near as much as most imported components I've used, and I'm not worried about this breaking.I can't compare this to the e-ink displays on some Kindle devices, but I do own an e-ink style Pebble Time smartwatch and it's pretty noticeable how much easier this panel is to read in darker lighting conditions. This doesn't have a backlight though, although a light-dependent resistor and a few LEDs do the trick.Bought this for a coursework project as part of my computer science degree, it impressed my friends, worked well, and I look forward to using it in some personal projects in the future.

Good but the first one I had died within days without reason. Second still working almost a year later
