Absolutely fantastic set! Great for inspiring civil engineers. My 10 year old is really enjoying putting this set together. He is really getting a stronger grasp on some concepts he’s been learning in his civil engineering class.

Overall, fun activity!
We loved building a bridge as a family activity. It took a little bit of figuring out but was doable. We hated to have to take our bridge apart to be able to make any other models, but that is our only complaint.

I got this for a hospital charity to give to a kid in the hospital. Looked like a really nice item. Great instructions and a value kit overall.

Lot of knowledge
I really like the inclusion of basic physics formulas and explanations in the book with some tangible representation in the structure being built. If you have some understanding of it yourself you can connect the dots for the kids pretty quickly. Not a fan of the braces being friction fit as it lead to a demonstration of the forces on the braced square failing at the joint between the brace rod and eye.

I got this for my 10 year old who developed an interest in bridge building after a school assignment. Some of the string projects needed adult assistance but overall he had fun building the structures and learning some engineering basics.
