In an age where any enclosed canvas structure with a ventilation port is immediately assumed to be a shrine to certain botanical pursuits, I feel compelled to offer a more measured account of the Vivosun 2×2 grow tent. Yes, it is sturdy. Yes, it is discreet. Yes, it arrives with the sort of fittings that might cause a passing constable to raise an eyebrow. But let it be known that this tent is also a magnificent tool for the entirely lawful and deeply wholesome act of starting one’s fruit and vegetable seedlings early in the year. My tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, broccoli, and strawberries have all enjoyed the sort of microclimate normally reserved for tropical holidays. The reflective interior gives them a sense of self‑importance, the structure holds heat beautifully, and the ventilation fan (which I also ordered, and which has yet to summon the boys and girls in blue to my doorstep) keeps everything fresh and well‑circulated. Should law enforcement ever appear, I shall greet them cheerfully, offer them a tomato plant, and invite them to admire the seedlings thriving under LED lights like tiny Victorian children at a seaside resort. In short: an excellent tent, a fine horticultural ally, and proof that not every grower is cultivating a lifestyle that requires legal counsel.

I didn’t get this for its intended use, I needed a way to vent fumes from printing ABS/ASA outside without lowering my chamber temps inside the printer. Normal printer tents were too short or too expensive for what I needed. This fit the bill perfectly. Pros: The tent material and zippers seem of good quality. Went together easily, even assembling by myself. Tons of venting options. (kind of) Cons: The poles feel flimsy. For this application I feel they are sufficient, but something to keep in mind. When assembled the tent feels pretty solid. For my application I would have liked a way to feed cables in from the bottom, I currently have them coming in via the zipper, which isn’t ideal. For others this may not be a big deal, as the light and fan will be at the top of the chamber anyways. Overall, it worked perfectly for what I needed. I paired it with the cheap vivosun 4 in fan and it has plenty of power for the 2x2x4 tent, even sucking in the sides at full power. No more ABS fumes in the house.

Assembly was not very difficult. Coded pieces fit well. Overall pleased with the design of the tent. However, I was disappointed with the way the flood tray fit the tent. Looks like they cut the floor a little short. Contacted Vivosun about this issue. It took them about a week to get back to me. Said they were on a holiday. The response from Vivosun was to send a picture of the Serial number, and pictures of the defect. Also advised that they would have to send the information to their manufacturing plant in China. It was further stated that it would take 20-25 business days for the part to be sent from China. I am not happy with that response. I don't understand why they don't keep parts in their warehouse rather than having to go through hoops to get a defective part replaced. The dimensions of the grow tent are spot on. The fit on the frame is good, fairly easy to figure out how to assemble. The only problem I have is the flood tray not fitting properly. Not worth sending back for that reason only. Hope Vivosun understands the importance of acting on a customer service issue in a timely manner. Three weeks for a replacement part is unacceptable. Update: Received replacement flood tray received 2 weeks later. New flood tray fits exactly the way it is suppose to. Vivosun does stand behind their product, Albeit a little slow due to logistics with their plant in China.
