Got this fitting for my 4runner rear diff, for a breather. And it still hold on and no rust.

I always add one of these to my Toyota rear axles. The factory breather is ill-designed. After turning out the factory breather, I wrapped a little teflon tape around the threads and carefully turned this into my axle housing. Then attached some clear tubing with a small clamp up into my engine bay up to the firewall being careful not to pinch the tubing as I went and cable-tied it to the frame in a few spots. You can also use fuel line for added durability. Topped it off with a clamp-on small engine fuel filter and cable tied that right below the inner cowl. An easy project to protect your rear axle from sucking in water/blowing out your axle seals.
