Works well on scaredy cats!
My Maine coon cat came home from the vet from his dental procedure and developed multiple mats on his chest fur area. I had asked the vet to clean up the area during the procedure, but at that time the mats were not there. I purchased this cat trimmer in hopes I didn’t have to return to pay the vet more money. This trimmer didn’t dissapoint, it was very quiet and didn’t scare him away. Although we needed to take multiple passes at the clumped matted fur, it definitely worked extremely well! Just remember that the blade can be adjusted around the handle area. We set the guard low and finally freed all the mats!!! No harm or issues to his skin. He is a very happy kitty now!! Easy to use, and worked on our scaredy cat!!! Best purchase of the year by far for our cat!!!

Excellent product!
I have an overweight cat with plush (but not long) fur who can't reach his back to groom so he gets fur mats, the poor thing. I've been researching home grooming for a while because I really didn't want to traumatize him with a professional groomer. Many vets recommended against it, but this product was on sale and I thought if he didn't like it or it didn't work well, it wasn't a big loss. But he LOVED it, and this thing went through his thick fur like warm butter. I could not believe how easily it slid through. The mats took a little more work, but the trimmer is so quiet and smooth, he didn't mind at all. The reviews with videos were helpful -- the depth of the trimmer edge is adjustable and it comes with other attachments, a little brush to clean it, and a pair of scissors (we didn't use those). It's lightweight and comfortable to hold, although it's smooth plastic so it did want to slip out of my hand once or twice. Next time I use it, I'll wear latex gloves to make sure it doesn't slip. Worth every penny for me, and I highly recommend.

Perfect for my long hair dachshund
Background info: my dog is hyper sensitive around her paws, she doesn’t like loud noises, and can only handle discomfort in short instances before trying to hop off the table or run out of the room. I use this on a long haired dachshund mix. Pros of kit: -Strong battery life for use on a small dog. Used this today at max speed, non stop, for about 30 minutes, and it only went down to 75% battery. -Low noise. This tool is not “quiet” or “silent.” Id say it sounds like a lower hum compared to a set of barber clippers. It worked well for my sensitive dog and she had no initial reaction to run like she has with louder clippers. -Options and consistency. The clipper comes with a few different sizes for guards. I found that they consistently cut clean and efficiently on my long haired pup. -Easy clean up. Simple design that is easy to open and clean with the use of the provided small brush. Extra oil is also in the kit so you can reapply to blades and motor insert after cleaning off any dog hair. -Maneuverability. My dog is a “low rider” and has only a few inches of clearance between her belly and the ground. This tool is easy maneuver around her little legs, belly, chest, sides, and back without losing power/efficiency. Cons of kit: -Grooming shears. The detailing scissors that are included in the kit are not great quality but they do get the job the done if you’re patient. Mine only cut hair in the middle of the blades and not toward the tip so I can’t do any exact detail work for longer strands. Definitely more of a “blunt” cut with these scissors. Overall Opinion: I’m not a professional dog groomer, this was my second time using this kit on my pup, I specifically wanted something reliable and wireless, with a strong battery, and low hum. That’s exactly what I got! I’ll update this review after 12 uses to comment on the kits longevity but so far the short term has yielded fabulous results. I would recommend this product for use on smaller dogs! Please note: the clippers might leave grooming lines where the guard lays on the fur/hair of your dog. If this happens, it’s because your dogs hair grows in different directions and YOU as the groomer need to accommodate for the shape of your dog and where you might need to go over a spot a few times from different angles. You’ll still need to move your dog around to get them trimmed from the direction you want, but overall, I think this is a solid set of clippers and I’m excited to keep using them!

Great price, shaves very easily and pretty quiet!
These do a great job! Our cat got very matted on her rear. The mats were very tight and very close to her skin. She is a Maine Coon with very fine dense long hair and when she gets matted, it is usually an expensive trip to the vet or groomer. These clippers arrived the day I ordered them. They are very quiet and work very nicely. I was able to get under the mat going in from the top, and gently shaved them off. Exactly what we needed! She looks a little strange, but I am sure she feels better!

Good, quiet and sharp.
Pretty good clipper. It’s fairly smooth and sharp and you can adjust it easily. I’ve only used it a couple times but it is also more quiet than other clippers I’ve used before so it doesn’t seem to bother my cat as much.

Works Great!
These clippers are wonderful for going thru the matts on my long haired cats! They are really quiet and don't bother them. I love that it came with all the attachments, scissors and a nice comb. Barely uses any battery and comfortable to grip.

Removes matted cat hair. Highly recommended.
This is the ONLY product to buy to remove matted cat hair. My cat wen out after it rained and when she returned home hours later, her entire under chest, arm pits, belly and the top of her hind legs were densely matted tight up against her skin from laying down in wet grass. Her long fur was completely matted and the only way it could be removed was by shaving. I have used Wahl Cat Hair shaver before and it is also every effective and equally as quiet as this one. Both have the same light humming sound which helps the cat to be less stressed while being shaved. I rate this one above the Wahl one because this one is cordless and while shaving the cat with a corded shaver, you always have to move the cord and the cat perceives it at something foreign coming at her. This shaver is much better ergonomically in the hand. The blade with is about 1 and 3/4 inches horizontally and thes was the perfect dimension. Critically, this shaver did remove all of the matt's. As other reviewers noted, my cat also relaxed during the shaving, so much so that while lying down on her side and slightly on her back, she actually raised and comfortably stretched out her front legs to enable me to shave the matt's under her arm pits. This was a totally uncharacteristic action on her part while shaving. She is usually tense and merely tolerant while shaving matt's. A few hints, shaving matt's is not something the cat can tolerate in one sitting. When she moves away to run to another room, etc., accept it and be done with it. This gives the cat an understanding that she is in control and not being forced or yelled at, etc. This freedom will bring her peace and hours later or the next day you can resume the shaving. In this case, with a densely matted coat, tightly against her skin, it took 3 sessions several hours apart. I could tell she wasn't as upset as she has been in the past when she usually tense and hides under the staircase or a bed. With this shaver she did run but instead ran to a a large package I had in the kitchen allowing me to see her and showing me she was grooming her fur with her tongue. in other words, this running away from the shaving process was like an automatic reflex for her but her behavior by keeping herself out in the open indicated to me, she didn't mind this new shaver. One reason the cats will need to run from shavers is that the blade does become hot so, it is a proper defense mechanism to run away. You need to let the blade cool down totally. Mats are dense and the machine is working hard so, do everything at the proper pace for the cat and the machine. Do NOT waste your money on the various wire or weirdly shaped metal mat removers. Those prices do NOT work at all. Put your money into this perfectly sized, corded electric shaver, which is totally effective at removing mats for less than $40. You will see that the money you spend in this is an investment and not a waste of money like the other products. I highly recommend this product to remove heavy, dense mats.

Quiet, effective and cat will tolerate it
Our long-haired cat is getting older and needs some help with grooming. She does not like being combed so it is tough to keep the mats at bay. She even barely tolerates being petted. She hated our old trimmer and it was hard to get her to sit still long enough to do much. This trimmer cuts right through mats and is quiet. She's not a huge fan of this one either, but will allow us to use it just long enough to get the mats off. We are able to trim up hair where she needs it too.
