Do they come with gasket?

Yes, we updated these lids with gasket. They are airtight lids.

What recycling code is this made of?

There is no recycling code stamped on the lids themselves, or on the box. They look identical to Ball lids, if that helps.

Has anyone had experience with these leaking when shook?

It can happen if the lids are not screwed on super tight. BUT we solve this problem by using re-useable silicone rings. The rings help with any mason jar and come in regular and wide mouth and one seller sells a split set for both sizes which is what we bought. But if you use one size more than the other then by all means look into the sets that match in size. I also save mayo jar lids in usually red or blue because they are classic regular mason size lids. My husband snitched a few all matching red ones for the 4 ounce ball jars he keeps his home roasted coffee beans in. They are kept fresh and he goes through one jar and grinds it for one fresh pot of coffee at a time until it's time to roast another batch. He's happy with the system. Meantime I don't use the silicone rings if all I'm doing is covering opened jars of jelly or tomato paste etc. Because I have no intension of turning them up and shaking them. But when I make fridge sweet HOT pickled cukes and onions where I occasionally need to shake. Then definitely we use the silicone rings. Also when we transport the liquids as in I just gave away 6 jars of the hot sweet pickles and the antique blue jars I used had some flea chips around the tops so they definitely tended to leak using this kind of cap. Then it's wise to add the silicone ring for transporting. But of course to only those folks you can trust will return your jars and lids including the silicone inserts. It's a bit too expensive these days to give away the jars and all with the food too. So far we've had half the jars returned. But promises of the others in the works :))) I hadn't planned on giving the pickles out when I decided to make them in the antique jars from husbands grandma. She passed in mid 80's at well into her 90's and we've had the jars since the 70's but we don't trust them at their age to hot processing so fridge pickles for ourself is great use of them. BUT made so many more pickles this year than we could use and fridge is full so we started sharing with the agreement the jars come back. In the future so we don't have to worry so...we'll make this particular pickle in newer mason jars and not sweat so much if we give a jar out for it's return. Anyway....a lot of leakage depends on the contents of the jar. If like the pickles it's a thin liquid or brine/syrup it's more likely to leak than thicker tomato paste or puree's. We process regular sweet and dill pickles and when we open a jar of those or a jar of Jam or jelly we always switch out the metal caps and lids that were used for processing and canning the product for a plastic one or even a single piece metal one because it is easier to handle but for pickles in the door of the fridge once open they can actually eat away at the metal lids and leak outside the jar making a stain and mess of your fridge shelf. It has everything to do with the acid of the juice/brine no doubt. Oh by the way don't buy the hype that the silicone lids stay inside all the plastic caps some caps like the ball brand MAYBE but most it's like maybe maybe not. But if you use dishwashers all the time which we don't...you'll need to keep track of those clearish silicone rings no matter how you wash by hand or machine....but especially important in the machines not to miss and cause a plug up or other misshap.

Perfect for my needs!

These are great little jar lids. I use Mason/Ball canning jars a lot in my home, and these are wonderful for when I make a small batch of jam or soups that I don't want to actually can, but just keep in my fridge. They have great seals, so make sure you don't tighten them down too much, or they will be hard to remove when you need to. lol Clean and simple, fit perfectly, and look very nice on the jars. So far, I have had no leaks with anything. I would purchase again.

Great deal on a good product

I love using canning jars to store leftovers but don’t like the two part metal lids. These lids are water tight, fit great and are dishwasher safe. This is my second set.

These are a good product for the price

I like this product. We use canning jars for a lot of temporary storage. These work well for what we need. We use them over and over again. They wash easily and are ready to go again.

Perfect tops

I do a lot with mason jars and I really love these covers. Some of the things I make like fire cider rust out the original tops really quick, this is a great and easy solution to that. Perfect

Perfect Seal on Ball Brand Jars - Excellent Value / Price

We really appreciate these lids for both standard and wide mouth mason jars. Unlike metal lids, these can be run through the dishwasher which better removes smells and odors. Since we use these for tea storage, removing scents of prior teas is a priority. The seals are easily removable for deep cleaning. The seal quality is excellent. Compared to snap lock products, these lids have never presented leaking when I've transported liquids in a jar within my backpack or work bag. Terrific price as well when you consider longevity. Fit is perfect and they are easy to open due to their ribbed edges. The look is clean and we can easily label them with a dry erase marker for all of our various teas. reliable and useful alternatives

I find these useful, reusable, easy to clean and perfect for giving food treats like my freezer jam, or storing soups and stews. I have plastic containers but prefer to use my glass canning jars to keep foods frozen. I like and trust my canning lids and rims, but these make a nice presentation in a Christmas gift bag with a nice label.

These changed my life, I need more

I love using mason jars for all kinds of stuff, but burning through rings and inserts got to be a pain. So I bought these and absolutely love them. Washable, reusable, and tightly seal. Absolutely worth the money and they should last forever.
