Just right ! Nutrition
This is just what my cat with kidney issues needs to help her appetite, she now finishes her food right away. It also has improved her bowel movements. It comes in a loaf texture so I scoop it out and mash it up first before I give it to her .

finally, a renal cat food that my cat will actually eat
I've tried every brand mentioned by my vet, but both cats that I have had over the years who had kidney disease would always turn up their nose at the smell. I asked Blue Buffalo for a sample can, which they sent me. My cat ate it without much hesitation, as both the Blue Buffalo can and her previous (non-renal) food were both chicken pates. I ordered the case of 24 cans from Amazon, and so far we have gone through 12 cans (at about a can every three days, supplemented with dry food). I also tried the Blue Buffalo renal dry food (kibble), which luckily my cat also eats. Aside from the high cost of the food, I give it two thumbs up.

Only Prescription Formula My Cats Will Eat
I have cats who have early kidney disease and the more commercial prescription formulas they would not eat. This is the only one that my cats like. It has a softer, moisture quality compared to Royal Canin and Hill’s Science Diet.

Cans have been damaged
My cat has been on Blue K&M wet and dry food for 9 months and eats it and is doing much better than when she was on non prescription food. The only complaint I have is that every case of wet food I have bought has had at least one if not several damaged cans. Most the time the cans are just dented. But occasionally the whole can has to be thrown away. The last case ( lot# 20261017U) had several cans that were definitely lighter than the other cans and were half empty when I opened them. Unfortunately, I did not feel safe about feeding those cans to her so had to throw them out. I feel that I definitely have not saved money using the Blue wet food since every case has had an issue. I would like to continue using this food since my cat will eat it, but I really need to see a change in how they seal and pack their wet can food or I will have to change food.

Kitty says "no way".
I originally rated this as a good food as she seemed to like it, at first. Now, several weeks later, she is not all that excited about it and even though being hungry, will walk away from it checking back a few times to see if something else is being offered that she likes more which is Forza brand and smells way better than this one. Now this one, Blue Buffalo, is not something she likes at all since the other brand food is available so I will not order again for my cat. Yours may like it but Charlotte says NO!

Takes some getting used to
Update! My two 11 year olds are still eating this food! In addition to me mixing it with the Blue Wilderness Mature Cat formula, I also heat it up for about 15 seconds in the microwave and they seem to really like that. But the best news is they had their check up with the vet and they got a clean bill of health! No kidney concerns and keep doing what I am doing because it’s working! We all know the “tastes good vs good for you” adage. Well apart it’s the same with our pet foods. My cats love the Blue line foods in general which I am so grateful for. However, I had to talk them into liking the Veteranary’s Diet. My Vet highly recommended a Kidney Support Diet for my cats as they are older and showing some signs of early kidney problems. She thought a change in diet would remedy the issue. At first they would nibble at it and then turned their nose up at it. I wasn’t giving up! I paid a lot of money and my cats health is important. I now mix the Veterinary Diet with the Blue Wilderness and they will now eat all of it! Success! Luckily the Veterinary Diet Kidney Support also comes in a dry formula, and my cats love it! Both are 11 years old and you wouldn’t even know it. They thrive well on this food!

3 kitties won't touch this
I soooo badly wanted this to work for my 16yo kitties with kidney disease. They both eat the dry version but I wanted to get them transitioned to all wet food so I ordered this with high hopes. 3 cats, none will touch this. Tried mixing water in with it like other kitty moms, to no avail. Tried mixing the dry food in, also a fail. Even with tuna juice they won't be fooled. It's a very expensive waste.

Only brand my cat will eat consistently.
My cat has earlier stages of renal failure. My vet only carries Royal canin and purina kidney foods. Tried both brands with little success. Bought Forza brand on Amazon and at first thought I had a hit, but after a few times that was a no-go too. Then I saw this brand. She'd eaten the normal varieties of blue buffalo in the past so I told my vet to watch for an rx approval coming in. So far she's eaten both the wet and dry blue buffalo kidney foods for maybe 1-2 months faithfully each meal. A+ so far.
