Bibi: My Story

Fascinating man Fascinating read
No one can tell the story of Israel’s rise to become a modern country of influence better than the man who helped achieve it. An Israeli friend told me she despises him because she thinks all his motives are self serving. I responded that to this American he seems incredibly charming. His brilliance is without question. I think this book also shows his heart.

Highly interesting autobiography of Israel's past and present Prime Minister.
Benjamin Netanyahu is an excellent writer in English, and has lived a long and varied life through multiple difficulties, challenges and successes. He has been unusually resourceful, persistent, and creative in designing and promoting to eventual acceptance and execution of superb solutions for Israel's government and economy. His book is long, over 700 pages, and highly detailed. He has kept excellent records, possesses a superb memory, and shares in this book intricate details of his challenges, some failures, but predominantly successful efforts. He has traveled worldwide extensively and has met and collaborated with leaders in other nations and governments. I believe that his leadership has been largely responsible for the high successes of Israel's growth and development into the powerful nation it has become in spite of formidable resistance and delays. I also believe that he has been and continues to be a gift of God to the "apple of His eye", His witness to the world of His great grace, power, mercy and truth. I have donated this book to my local public library in the hope that others will appreciate it, enjoy it and learn from it as I have.

Anazing man
Netanyahu is an amazing man who loves his people and understands the reality of the region better than anyone else. After finishing this book, I now clearly see how his critics have no idea what they’re saying. Any country would be so lucky to have a leader like Bibi Netanyahu.

A very good, very instructive autobiography.
“Bibi: My Story” is a very good autobiography, perfect for anyone interested in Mr. Netanyahu and/or the state of Israel. Its pages are filled, not only with Mr. Netanyahu’s love of country and family (many of whom participated in Israel’s creation and/or defense), but with the reasons and bases for that love and admiration which, in turn, describe much about Israel and its history, politics, geography, culture, military, and foreign policy concerns. It's a long book, some 655 pages (not counting notes, index, photos, etc.). But it’s very well written in a style that’s clear, concise, and direct. (Indeed, Mr. Netanyahu repeatedly mentions and apparently admires Strunk and White’s “Elements of Style.”)It includes, among other topics, Mr. Netanyahu’s upbringing and education in both Israel and the United States, his own military service with a branch of Israel’s special forces, the Sayeret Maktal, his entry into business and then Israel’s diplomatic service in Washington during the Reagan administration, and, of course, his various terms as Prime Minister and leader of the opposition. While any autobiographer can be expected to put the facts about his or her life in the best possible light, what emerges—independent of what Mr. Netanyahu writes about himself—is a picture of a highly competent man of many, varied talents and someone who has much to teach about leadership. As we get to know Mr. Netanyahu, we also learn of his dealings with and/or opinions about a wide variety of Israeli, American, and foreign politicians including Golda Meir, Shimon Perez, Itzhak Rabin, Yasser Arafat, Ronald Reagan, George Schultz, Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama, Donald Trump, and many others. And we learn his views about issues such as Israel’s right to exist (and the denial of that right by its enemies), its relations with Arab neighbors, global terrorism, anti-Israeli propaganda, the press, Israel’s internal politics, and its agreements and disagreements with the United States. All in all, I found “Bibi: My Story” to be an instructive, interesting, and enjoyable work well worth the time.

Great book and an important book for anyone interested in Israeli-US relations and Israeli history.
This is a hard book to put down once you open its cover and start to read it. Mr. Netanyahu carefully tells the story, his story, of his first hand account of Israeli history, and illuminates its ancient nation-status, the many times his people have been taken from their land over its many millennia existence. He also weaves that history into the shaping of his family and their personal history, the important part his progenitors and a few key people played in bringing Hebrews home to their land, and the valiant, on-going fight to save it from those on the world stage who seek, either from their own myopic view, or from pure power-driven greed, to once again wrest it from the hands of those who rightfully belong in that sacred land.Like those who would deny the Holocaust, there are today too many in powerful leadership positions in the United States who are actively seeking the demise of that tiny nation through supporting its neighbor nations in a misguided attempt to win the accolades of the world by bartering away the safety and security of Israel through appeasing those bent on its destruction, masquerading these attempts as a peace process. Mr. Netanyahu gently expresses the dilemma faced by Israel as they try to maintain their country and maintain a healthy relationship with the United States. Why is it that the United States insists on interfering with free, legal, democratic elections in that nation? This book is eye-opening and a must read for anyone who is interested in the truth of world politics and the State of Israel.
