365 by Whole Foods Market, DGL Plus Chewable Tablets, 100 Tablets

DGL Plus is amazing! My husband was on 40 mg prescription Omeprazole for a couple of years due to multiple ulcers and Schatzki rings. We desperately wanted to get him off of the prescriptions since they can cause kidney damage. We tried many times with no success until we put him on the DGL Plus. We cut back the dosage of the Omeprazole to 20 mg and added the DGL Plus chewable once daily before dinner. After a week we stopped the Omeprazole and were pleased a few days later when everything was good. A few weeks later we also added Aloe and Boswellia twice each day purely as 'insurance'. Because of the timing of everything we changed, we know that the DGL Plus had a huge positive impact on getting him off of Big Pharma products. He takes additional DGL Plus if something doesn't feel like it is going to sit well, but that doesn't happen often. Before the DGL while on the prescription, he was having occasional discomfort and actively bleeding ulcers. Now he is back to normal. The Schatzki rings are always going to be an issue, but he has learned his trigger which is bread so he avoids it. DGL Plus has a slight Anise or Licorice flavor - the Anise is what makes it work. If you don't like Licorice but have stomach issues I would recommend you learn to like it because this product has been a life (kidney) saver.

I use DGL as a part of my anti-acid regimen. I have used other products in the past, but I find that the 760mg of DGL is the best in the price range. It has up to 10x the DGL than some of the competitors. I like the taste of licorice, and you can definitely taste it in this product. Not so in the others that I have tried. It includes L-glycine, which is also reportedly soothes the stomach. Using Whole Food's DGL Plus with manuka honey plus changing my diet has pretty much ended the acid reflux nightmare of the past.

I've mostly used licorice root extract for my digestive issues for years, but the various brands I've used kept changing their formulas, and seemed to become less effective. After learning that I had h.pylori, I searched for ways to treat it without having to rely on harsh prescription drugs and such (this was of course after I underwent the standard treatment for h.pylori). I then learned about DGL tablets, and went with the Whole Foods brand of the product. Although it is hard for me to chew due to braces, they definitely work better than licorice root extract. It's also nice to just chew a tablet or two and go on with my day, whereas with the extract, I drank as a tea, but sometimes I just didn't feel like drinking water, especially at night when I usually needed the extract. I take the tablets with PepZinGI, and have become much healthier and more conscious of my digestive system. Although I might consider trying other DGL tablets, I'm pretty satisfied with the Whole Foods version so far.

This works extremely well (2 per day - chew well) IF YOU TAKE it on a consistent basis. I highly recommend this product if you are trying to go the more natural route. NO Tums or Omeprazole for me. Side effects are too serious for both of those medications. I prefer the natural route.

I have been using DGL Plus Whole Foods brand for several years. A wonderful product that has helped in my years long struggle with acid reflux. I usually stock up on bottles and only recently had to replenish my stock. I was disappointed to see the labeling had changed, but the name and ingredients seemed the same, so I bought one bottle just to check it out. This morning I chewed my first two tablets before breakfast and it did not taste like the same product. Less licorice flavor and more of something off-putting. Please, please, Whole Foods Market go back to your original formula! This change will affect the many of us who have come to rely on the product for digestion help.

For my stomach. I am pleased with them. They are chewable and they taste good !

I use this after taking ibuprofen which causes a burning stomach sensation or eating spicey food. Really seems to help repair irritated stomachs. I hate the taste of licorice so having an easy to swallow capsule makes it so much easier to take. Dgl the 'lion-tamer'
