Great Quality and Affordable Price From a Trusted Brand
Smith&Wesson is known for their quality products. I instantly ordered this brand over others after bekng advised that these are the best you can buy. I ordered many things for Christmas and this came much more quickly than the other. Professional packaging allowed the knives to arrive in perfect shape and they are new never used. Quality is amazing as I expected from this company. Well made no defects well balanced. They won't break or snap like other brands and include a Sheath to easily store or carry the knives. I feel confident that these will last him a lifetime. I suggest the 10 inch. I did research on the difference between the lengths. The longer 10 inch is suggest as it's more stable and accurate when thrown. The extra weight may intimidate some a few customers. The knives are not too heavy but have good weight to them that will make them stick deeper and more easily into your target. 100% suggest to choose this brand to avoid disappointment and great value for the money. I can't wait to recieve the axes and see my son's expression when he opens then for Christmas. It's a skill that could be useful and a gift that keeps giving since they will give him something to do and perfect.

Good quality the axes are impressive.
Follow up, several months later and we are still throwing these. I am about to buy another set. I would also like to state that once you learn how to throw the knifes and axes, purchasing a higher quality (harder) steel also makes sense. You will miss less and stick more, that means less chance to break them. Original: We, my yeating family, really like the axes. They come sharp enough to actually cut you if you get careless. When you add that to the weight of these axes it means they will stick into wood it you hit it. They are amazingly easy to throw, once you get you distance set, all three of us were sticking them on every throw. The knives of of the same quality and have good weight to them, I was concerned after reading the reviews that they would break. They held up to me, and I throw hard! The draw back to the knives is, dull does not begin to explain it. It is like a steel bar that has been smoothed to avoid scratching the user, and then one end drawn to a point. The tip will pierce the skin with little effort, the rest of the blade would literally smash butter as you tried to get it from a container to butter your bread. For training I highly recommend both. I can get the knives to stick about 75% of the time, probably closer to 85-90% if I sharpen them. But from a training point of view, their weight makes up for the sharpness. I bought these to train, and learn to throw. I am getting my grip and form down with them so they are doing their job well. Drawbacks: If you think that steel used in a throwing blade should never bend or chip, you are wrong, the blades need to flex or they will break. This is the quality of steel I expected for the set. After several hours of throwing (actually it is the missing that messes them up) we acquired some small folds in the edges of the axes, these are minor and about 5 minutes of work per axe with a wet stone smoothed out the jagged parts enough to not snag on anything. To remove the marring completely would need removing about 1/32-1/16 of an inch. We are just going to throw them again so they do not need to be perfect. So the fact that they are a soft steel and need maintenance sucks, but it is necessary. Knives: same thing as above with the steel. The thing is, I will be sharpening these soon. The fact that they didn’t even pretend to put a cutting edge on them means I need to take them to the grinder to put a rough edge on them. Literally, there is no edge, the knife slopes to a point but it is impossible to cut yourself on them. If not for the point I would give them to a toddler and let them throw them. Bottom line: I grew up buying the cheapest thing around or making my own stuff. That said, I have thrown sheet metal thick throwing stars and knives, to small yet decent “beginner” quality knives. Camping axes and hatchets, along with drywall hammers. Short of buying professional grade axes and knives, this is the best I have ever purchased!

Good Overall Quality
Pretty good knives! I love the weight and shape, but they are not as easy to stick in the target and not as accurate as my other set. They are not sharp, just a very fine point. Which I love because I don't have to be as caught with them. I have damaged 3 in the 2 sessions I used them. The tips dented on two and the edge curled on one. We think from hitting another knife or axe. We were able to file them into shape again though. Over all good knives!

Excellent balance and durability—great for beginners and seasoned throwers
These Smith & Wesson Bullseye throwing knives are a solid choice for anyone into recreational or competitive throwing. The first thing I noticed was how well-balanced they are—each knife feels stable in the hand and flies straight with minimal wobble. That balance makes a big difference in consistency, especially when you’re trying to refine your technique. The full tang stainless steel design feels durable and well-crafted, and the etched branding adds a nice touch. I also appreciate the included nylon sheaths—they’re basic but functional for safe transport and storage. After several sessions at the range, they’ve held up well with no bending or chipping. Whether you’re just getting started or already have some experience, these knives offer great control and reliability.

Great throwing knives.
This is the 2nd set of 8-inch throwing knives that I bought from S&W. I'm a big fan of their inexpensive but adequately functional blades and equipment. These throwers feel great in the hand, are extremely well balanced, and have a decent heft and weight to them which gives some good penetration even on hard and knotty wood. The sides of the blade are not sharpened at all, but the points are very pointy and sharp. This is the case with many throwing knives. I did sharpen up the first inch of blade on a few from an older set but I do not recommend this if throwing into wood due to the fact that it will weaken the tip. The carry sheath they come with is also of decent quality. At $20 for a set of three and $30 for a set of six, I'm gonna have to give them a 5 star rating.

Good but be careful of metal shards
I love these but after 3 years the shards of metal would pierce my hands so I had to chunck them. I did intend to get another pair and wear gloves because it it hard to find knives this heavy to throw.

Thrilled! Bought these for my son. I read the reviews from others to determine whether I bought these. The reviews were spot on. They are solid. The tips haven’t bent or chipped and my son and his friend who is a BIG guy have used them multiple times and they are still in excellent condition. Would highly recommend these!

Top.
