Live In Brixton

Captures the energy of Pixies and nice colored vinyl package. Not sure about the couple mentions of "no bass"- that is not my experience. - great solid mix down to the kick.

As previously stated, these recordings are almost entirely lacking in low frequency information as if they were intentionally rolled off which is really a shame since they sound pretty fine otherwise. It makes them a rather fatiguing listen.

Awesome cd book set... a must for any Pixies fan...

I Pixies sono un gruppo che ha una parte fondamentale nella storia del rock, e che è stato fonte di ispirazione per molti gruppi; tra i più noti Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead (e molti altri). Questi otto cd raccolgono i quattro concerti tenuti a Brixton dal 2 al 5 giugno 2004. La formazione originaria è qui in gran spolvero, la qualità artistica e audio eccellente. Alcuni brani, inevitabilmente, si ripetono; ma questo rende ancora più interessante la raccolta, perché i fan possono apprezzare la capacità di questo gruppo di reinventare lo stesso brano con un’interpretazione sempre diversa. La genialità di Frank Black resta intatta nel tempo, e la musica dei Pixies incredibilmente fresca e travolgente. Un must!

Am Bass zu dieser Zeit noch die kurz darauf bereits wieder gefeuerte Kim Deal - dargeboten wird die typische Best-Of-Setlist, welche sich über die aufgezeichneten vier Tage natürlich mehrfach überschneidet, was den wahren Fan jedoch kaum stört, sondern eher zum Vergleich anregt.
