Very nice !
Look, we should know this is just a copy of an original blade, an authentic sword would be thousands, for the price this is a Great Wall hanger, don’t know if it would break if used, the handle for being a copy looks good but the real deal is this blade, mine was absolutely perfect, the polished blade looks super nice, very happy with this purchase.

It's real and really well made.
Really well made, really sharp. But the Sheth looks like it was not made well. But definitely worth the price. My first sword in 3 years so worth the wait.

good sword
modern steel making techniques make folded steel obsolete in terms of durability. doesn't seem to be faux damascus. feels great in hand with the added wire woven into the tsuka. i've seen these exact same swords from this forge being sold for $300+ on other katana sites, so buying forge direct like this is gonna save you a couple hundred. i like the look so much i bought a hammered damascus steel ring on etsy to match.

Cracked Habaki…
Loved the way it looked until I saw the crack on the habaki, the “brass” piece that is right above the tsuba. Really speaks to the poor quality metal. Honestly really bummed, was waiting for this to get back in stock for a long time. It’s pretty, but not a good value for what I paid.

No Quality Control or Knowledge of Blade Geometry? DO NOT BUY, IS ART PIECE, NOT A SWORD AT ALL
UPDATE: Received my replacement and it's even WORSE than the first. DO NOT BUY. ART OBJECT is beautiful, Damascus is tighter pattern, the hammer finish bevels are beautiful and shallow enough to not affect the blades integrity. Solid blade, solid fixtures. The Grind, the blade main bevel grind was horrific. It's twice as thick on one side than the other. This makes it non-functional as a sword. There's a warp in my blade, offset almost 3/8" from hilt to tip. Again makes it Non-functional as a sword. The Damascus shows an edge roll, as if some factory worker test cut something only to realize there's non-hardened steel along the blade edge? Packaged it up and shipped it out to me anyway... What types of steel are in the Damascus?? There should be ZERO mild steel along the blade edge, this isn't functional, it containing some amount of proper 1040/1060 steel means nothing if it's clad against mild throughout the weapon. I wasn't expecting perfection but at least basic necessary symmetry and integrity so that it could actually be called a sword... Not a sword inspired wall art, but a 'Handmade Katana' I've ordered a replacement to give this product a fair chance. I own a few swords from $80-$500 This looks like a beautiful piece but I did NOT buy this to cosplay, at least a symmetrical grind, even better if it'd been an almost san-mai construction like a proper Katana so the sturdy hard steel is the only cutting edge. Truly beautiful ART OBJECT images don't do it justice but with a warped and uneven grind mixed with possibly soft steel make it an overly expensive letter opener, hell a letter opener would have at least had a straight edge and an even grind. UPDATE: Received my replacement and it's even WORSE than the first. DO NOT BUY.
