Nice st.st material&finishing, but it takes forever for the water to boil on an electric stove.
I really want to love it. But whenever i decide tomuse it, its takes forever for water to boil on an electric stove and once it boils and you drop the pasta inside, it takes another while to boil again… I am not sure how to rate it…?! But these are my observations…..

Our previous pot didn't work well on the new induction hob, so we had to replace it. The first test cooking pasta with this pot was a resounding success. The handles did not get as hot as I had feared, the lid closes tightly with no chance of spillage. For now highly recommended.

The quality and base thickness is great. These are comparable to some of the high end ones at 1/4 of the cost. Great large size for cooking pasta, rice or stew. The built in simple strainer locking mechanism is commendable. P.s I have only used them on a gas range.

This Cuisinart pot is nearly identical to my long loved IKEA pasta pot with locking lid but better in many ways! The pot is a nice weight, not overly heavy but isn't flimsy or cheap feeling. The locking lid is just like my old pot where you put it on and turn the lid to allow you drain pasta without having to hold the lid on. Also, since this is a stainless pot, I won't have to worry about any non-stick coating eventually flaking off/chipping. One thing to note if you are new to stainless steel pots/pans, if you add salt to your water, DON'T add it to your water prior to boiling. You need to add it when the water is boiling so the salt dissolves and doesn't sit at the bottom of the pan. It can cause pitting which to my understanding doesn't affect the product's performance but will make the pot/pan less pretty. Overall, this is a nice sized, reasonably priced and beautiful looking pot. And the locking lid is perfect.
