Excellent Chuck for Very Small Drill Bits!

I needed to use a #40 drill bit straight and accurately many times without breaking it. Using a hand drill won't do, so the only way is on a drill press, but those chucks are too large where they don't close tight enough to hold very small drill bits such as a #40. This little drill chuck satisfies that need and easily holds a #40 drill bit while attached to the large main chuck on the drill press with a hex 1/4" shank. Works perfectly!!

best cheap buy

i bought this to us in my kobalt impact driver and it works well. only problem is that it doesnt fit all the drill bits in a set of say 13 like the dewalt 13piece drill bit set. 10out of 13 would fit but not the oter 3 due to increased shank sizing. other then that awesome deal worth it all the way

Screw needs to be much longer and more durable

The screw that tightens the hex shank to the brace has become unusable after using it one time. The screw is like it's make of some cheap alloy like aluminum. It simply will not screw into the hex shank while in the bit brace.

Works well, but beware!

Let me start by saying the issue I had with this was 80% human incompetence. So this worked quite well. It seemed of decent quality. I placed this in a magnetic bit holder. I was tired of constantly switching out my hex bit for a drill bit and I was losing a lot of time. I thought this was a genius idea.... until... I drilled the very first hole and went to pull the bit out. And this was the problem. The bitvand the head slipped right out of the bit holder. "Dang it". So I removed the bit holder and placed this in my drill directly. Now the one positive is the bit didn't slip nearly as much being tightened by a chuck instead of by hand. ...lesson learned. Still a good product.

as advertised, BUT...

As advertised, but it is starting to rust after two weeks. Its not my climate or humidity, it is pure steel and even fingerprints will etch/rust it. I suggest oiling it before you touch it and always wipe it down. As another review suggested, this is not for precision drilling, not because the tool sucks, but due to the connection with the impact drill, it wobbles a little. Was also a bit smaller than expected, but that is my fault, i should have noticed it has a smaller opening than some others from the description.

Must Have For Your Toolbox

I had a project that required drilling a hole in steel with a 1/8" bit.I have a budget-level cordless drill that has plenty of torque but it's chuck could not hold the bit tight enough. So I asked myself this question: "Does someone make a chuck that is tightened with a key and is mounted on a 1/4" hex arbor?"The answer is YES!Arrived on time. Fit right into the drill. Held the bit tight. Project done.A complete bargain. It now sits in the bit box.The modern world is amazing. This chuck is one of the reasons why.

Jaws are very bad, Adator screw is bad, Grit in chuck makes it lock up. Jaw fell out

First look, the Chuck looks really good, as the fit'n'finsh seem very well done. But just rotating it by hand you can feel the uncleaned manufacturing grit on the inside. The Chuck locks up in around the middle of travel a lot (see third pick of partially open jaws... its locked up) reversing the direction for 1/4 turn will allow you to get the rest of the way (but that not suppose to happen)If you close the Chuck on a bit the Jaws don't align properly. My guess is that the Assembly/QualityCotrol is so bad I got jaws 1,3,3 instead of a full set 1,2,3 (see Picks 1,2)There is also a bad bur on all the chuck jaws. (see Pic 1)The is no way I can see to disassembly the chuck to Clean out and lubricate it.The Adapter seems fine, but its looking screw is cracked, and the Phillips '+' is off center a lot... (see picks 4,5)The Pictures all show a 1mm bit (.0355") and that's the smallest bit that the chuck (with the bad grind on the jaws can actually grab (NOT 0.6mm). While writhing this review I ran the Jaws closed to make sure the above sentence was correct, and (Pick 6) happen. One of the Jaws just fell out of the gear!!!I have not put the Chuck in the Adapter, nor have I run the thing to see its runout. I couldn't get that far.I have to say the is the first Amazon product that I've had break in my hand, while writing the review (never used or even tested). With the lost Jaw it is completely unusable so I will have to return it.Please note that the Box is generic "KEYTYPE DRILL CHUCK" and the brand 'Yakamoz' is a later added sticker. so this crap might be under other brands too.

I’m enjoying it...

I use this little guy on the end of a DeWalt Impact Driver. It has eliminated the need to carry a drill. It’s made well, and small enough so it doesn’t take up much space. It’s small so check your size if you are using for larger drill bits.
