MANDA Organic Sun Paste 40g

I'm 40 years old and super careful with sun exposure since I suffer from melasma which is extremely easily triggered by sunlight, and also very difficult to treat. I also happen to surf. I've tried all types of sunscreens and sunblocks over the years- before this, the best option during surfing was Zinka, a physical barrier which usually (but not always) stayed on during surf, however made me break out and also felt sticky. I am so glad I tried this product however, because it is the best, and it is the only sunblock I will be using from now on. This product goes on and STAYS on- after 2-3 hours of getting my face pounded by waves, I would come out, look in the mirror and it would still be on. I can't promise that you won't get ANY sun exposure with this because my skin did get darker and my freckles did get darker too (although they are fading along with my tan) but I only wore this product while surfing, and not at other times. However, I took a before my trip and after my trip picture of my freckles and after 3 weeks of daily surfing I did not get ONE new freckle or sunspot. Pros: PROTECTS and LASTS (2-3 hours in waves) SKIN SAFE (no breakouts, no clogged pores) GOES ON DRY (no greasy feeling, no hair flying into your face and getting coated in product) SMELLS GOOD (no harsh chemicals) MESS FREE container Cons: Pricey Goes on white/chalky ( i like this because I know it's still on) May be a little hard to apply (you need to gently heat it in your fingers first) but also why it stays on so well If you need serious physical protection for your face I highly recommend this product.

I’m a little disappointed with the size (smaller than picture leads you to believe. That said, I love this sunscreen. It has a nice scent, easy to apply (a little goes a long way) and a decent price (compared to other reef safe brands). I’m going bald so I use this on the peanut to avoid burning the brain. It’s not goopy and doesn’t cause rashing (allergic reaction). It stays on when in the water or sweating but washes off clean with soap and water. This is my go-to sunscreen for face and scalp. The bamboo container is convenient and the sunscreen itself is a paste. Application is simple and there’s no greasy feeling. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

So...I bought this after doing a ton of research online. I wanted something that is organic and would pollute our water more than it already is. I know it's a small step, but it makes me feel good. Seeing the initial price of Manda I was hesitant but I'm really very happy that I went with this brand. I love the packaging, it's a little wooden case and my kids are already nagging me to empty out all the sunscreen and let them have it. The paste smells great, not at all toxic and oily like the copertone spray wife loves around the pool. It goes on fairly thick and rubs in to my skin well. I'm still getting the hang of application, but so far, my face has not gotten burned in 3+ hour surf sessions. The only downside to it is when it is when you leave it in a cold car, you've got to warm it up to make it pliable. I've been putting it next to my tush and using my car seat heater, by the time I get to my destination it's ready to go. Really recommend this product.

PROS: natural, smells good, wipes on and off easy. CONS: Doesn't stick to skin as long as other products, so I have to reapply often. So I've already burned through it in a short time.

It is very protective, very reef safe, and very waterproof. I love it while surfing and diving. One bummer is after not too long it became SUPER dry and impossible to spread... I wish they had a way to get it back into action.

I bought this product to try on my lips, mainly my lower lip. When it gets sunburnt, it blisters severely and takes almost 2 weeks to heal. It is VERY painful. This product works like a miracle on my lip! As long as I am diligent using it and applying it, it keeps my lip 100% safe. Sure, after awhile it gets tacky, since it's on my lips and it wears off, so I have to smooth it out and apply more. The mirror is very handy. I have only used this on my lips and the tip of my nose. It would be good under the eyes, too. Other than that, it is too thick and hard to spread if needed for a large area. But for my needs, it has been the only thing that works!!

BEST for OILY SKIN! Don't leave a lot of reviews, but this was* the best sunscreen for oily skin. Have tested tons of sunscreens for extended time in the water, and this was the only one that worked. Super thick/pasty so it would hold up to oily skin for hours where other sunscreens could not hold up/loose hold on oily skin (surfdurt, thinksport, you name it I have tried it). Unfortunately I think the owners stopped selling it. Hopefully they bring it back or license it to someone to keep making it. Doesn't hurt it was made wigth natural ingredients as well.

Incredibly dissapointed. Its like trying to rub hard wax onto your skin even after trying to melt. Doesnt soften up on skin either. You also get sooooi little product for the price. I will never be purchasing this product again. Worst I have ever tried and I had big hopes
