A good introduction into microdermabrasion
This microdermabrasion wand is a good introduction into DIY microdermabrasion and I would pay for a professional treatment on the basis of this DIY experience. This small tool (the head is about the size of a 10p coin) also did make me look into getting a more substantial tool. It definitely does the job but I think it's a matter of trial (and error) as to how many passes and what pressure to apply to each area of skin. That was my issue. First time I used it I did one pass over each area of skin, light pressure, because I was worried about damaging my skin as I don't have heavy scarring. This light touch approach was okay, but didn't feel nor look as though I'd done much the day after. Subsequently, I now do x3 passes over each area of skin and am seeing skin on the tool (nothing to be concerned about) and this seems good for my relatively clear skin. This is a good tool to always have on hand, but it has made me want to look into getting an electric device. At the time I purchased the Revlon wand it was about £12, I've since seen it for just a little over £10, then £20- which is wild.

Broken capillaries on my skin
I used it very gently on my face following instructions very carefully. Next morning I noticed some broken capillaries on one of my cheeks. Very upsetting. I would NOT recomend this product to anyone.

I was hesitant to buy this Revlon product seeing that some of the reviews were negative. I am very happy I bought it. I suffer from patches of dry flaky skin in the summer and winter, I tried everything, multiple types of face scrubs, a face srubbing mitt, etc but those dry patches of skin on my face still remained. I used this Revlon Microderm abrasion wand not optimistic that it'd work at all. I was shocked how well it worked, the dry patches of skin were easy to remove with this Revlon product and I no longer have patches of dry flaky skin on my face. It is a fantastic product that is easy to use and well worth the money. Only negatives are I personally don't like the very small handle, wish it were wider and more ergonomic and with it being the first time I used a microderm abrasion product it left my skin on my face looking slightly sunburnt and my skin is slightly irritated. All in all a great product, just press down gently when you use this Revlon Microderm Abrasion Wand on your face.

Great product! Helps aloe vera & shea butter soak in skin better. Creates smooth skin after feel for make-up application. Make sure to moisturize well after microdermabrasion!!! I use Aloderma 99% Organic Aloe Vera Gel for Face & shea butter with a bit of vaseline. I never use glycerin, as it pulls moisture from the innermost layers of skin, creating an illusion that it is moisturizing. I googled glycerin, & after I saw this, it made sense why my skin burned when I used glycerin after a microdermabrasion: Glycerin can dry out skin, but only under specific conditions: when used in high concentrations (above 20-30%) or in very dry, low-humidity environments, as it pulls moisture from deeper skin layers or the air; but in typical skincare products, it's a great humectant that draws moisture to the skin when paired with occlusives or in humid conditions, preventing dryness when used correctly. When Glycerin Can Cause Dryness -Low Humidity: In arid climates, glycerin pulls water from the deeper dermis (skin) to the surface, dehydrating the skin if there isn't enough moisture in the air or a sealant on top. -High Concentrations: Pure or highly concentrated glycerin (over 30%) can be irritating and drying; it's meant to be diluted in products. How to Use Glycerin for Hydration -Look for Formulated Products: Choose moisturizers where glycerin is an ingredient, not the primary one, combined with emollients and occlusives (like oils or butters) to lock in moisture. -Apply to Damp Skin: Use glycerin products after showering or applying a hydrating toner when skin is still damp to help it attract water from the environment. -Seal it In: Always layer a cream or ointment over glycerin-based products to prevent water from evaporating away. In Summary Glycerin is generally beneficial and safe, acting as a moisture magnet. The key is using it in well-formulated products and ensuring you're in a humid enough environment or sealing it with other ingredients to prevent it from pulling moisture out of your skin. So, for me, using glycerin after a microdermabrasion can be quite painful creating even dryer skin.
