Works as expected
I got this to create a wick for a custom 'heater'. Works great!

The fabric can eventually catch fire with a blow torch but for typical copper soldering it fits nicely behind pipe and prevents wood/drywall from being singed. If sustained for a few minutes a blow torch it will eventually set it on fire.
