NO,....quite frankly,....they are the biggest ripoff! I've listened to 3 different pairs with superior headphone amps (tube, solid state, and hybrid...I belong to a NYC based audio club/society) and these do NOT sound, look, or feel like $6K cans! In fact, your question sounds fishy to me,...almost as if you were trying to "shill" these ChiFi, underperformers! Don't get me wrong,...they do sound wonderful WITH the right amplification { they have 80db sensitivity so you will need MUSCLE to drive to sound really well } but, my guess is that you probably already know that Mr. Vendor or vendor's shill! "Aren't these an incredible bargain,...INDEED!) What horses...!

how does this compare to a focal utopia headphones

These are hardly superior to Focal Utopias. Headphones in this echelon come down to personal taste more than anything else. However, in the service of honesty, Focal Utopias are beryllium dynamic drivers vs the Susvara’s planar magnetic, which have very different characteristics and demands. For what it’s worth, the Utopias are built like a Swiss watch, and are considered among the most precise, detailed, resolving and musical headphones ever made. The Susvaras are no doubt sublime-sounding headphones. But be prepared to wonder where your $6,000 went when you see irregularities in the build quality—an infuriating issue with HifiMan cans across the board. Make sure you have a bag handy to put over your head so people won’t laugh at you for how foolish they look on your head. And finally, being planars, be prepared to listen to them at near inaudible volumes unless you have an amp that puts out at least a watt of power, and forget it if it lacks a balanced connection. Seriously Jim at Hifi Heaven, customers are facing a major investment with headphones at this price point. Unless you want your company branded as staffed by used-car salesmen, respond with at least a glimmer of transparency, honesty and thoughtfulness.
