Layer of Safety easily added
Its like a speed bump for the bed. Only slips out of place if Hubby scoots over it to get up and we just tuck it back in. It comes with a removable dust cover. If this prevent a fall, and so far it has, you can't beat it! Easy to use and effective. Our bed is California King and this works great. Arrived quickly and was well packed. A little hard to pull out of the package. But to be expected with shipping.

Feels so comfortable to feel safe.
I need to feel secure in the bed. This helps me accomplish that. I feel comfortable and safe when it is on my bed. It does get moved around a bit during the night but can be easily moved back into place. It is a great product.

Slips out
Works as intended. Bottom / flat side is slippery and allows the bolster to slide out from under the sheet. Needs something to keep it in place

Didn’t work for me
I got 2 for my husband who had a stroke and was falling out of bed. He was still able to roll over it into the floor.

Works
My husband has fallen out of bed 3 times. Last time he injured himself. I went on a search for something to prevent him from falling out. Didn’t like the metal and fabric semi ride rails. Too hospital like. A metal side rail is too much. Found this ad. I order the one with the bamboo cover. As bamboo sheets and fabric are cooling. The bumper is a little longer than needed. Would have preferred about 6 -8 inches shorted. The key to having it secure and not move is place it under your fitted mattress pad and then under a fitted sheet. Also place the extra material that is attached to the bumper pad on the mattress pad. The persons weight and being under a fitted mattress pad and fitted sheet made this bumper pad very secure. My husband was able to get in and out of bed easily. The bumper is firm but not hard. My husband stated he slept better than he had in years. As he felt secure. He also didn’t move as much as he usually does. Another Benefit of the bumper pad it feels great against your back. I am a RN and in the hospital setting many times for support and sleeping comport an extra pillow is rolled and tucked up against the patient’s back if they are wanting to sleep on their side or have problems moving. Rolled up pillows are often used to give extra support to the patient’s back. This bumper pad provides the same support. Another nice feature if you read or watch tv before sleeping it allows one arm to rest on the pad.

User-unfriendly (so far)…
First, thank you to the other reviewers for their suggestions as to how to keep this bedrail in place. I’ve just removed the bedrail from the bag. My hands aren’t arthritic, but it became quickly evident that anyone with arthritis or some type of hand injury, tenderness, etc. will likely experience discomfort in their cautious- and, hopefully successful!- attempt to remove the bedrail from the bag. The item was tightly coiled inside. Trying to grasp the end of the rail in order to begin removal was, to say the least, difficult. Removing the bedrail from the bag was akin to removing the 30yo pair of jeans you managed to put on thinking and desperately wanting them to still fit despite the reality your body is now too pleasantly plump. Make sense? Why not pack the bedrail inside a slightly larger bag and/or a bag made from stronger material? Frustrating and time-consuming! Despite being careful, one of the zippers suddenly popped off; I never yanked or forcefully pulled on the bedrail. The stitching loosened once that happened which then allowed for the removal of the bedrail. But, then, the second zipper fell off. Now, the lid is only held on by a single thread. Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I was anticipating repurposing the uniquely-shaped bag. If I’m going to spend $33 of my parents’ money for a product to help my Mom, then I expect all aspects of the product to be made with integrity. Besides, if ever it becomes necessary, it would be nice to think that we could store the bedrail in its original container. The look on the associate’s face at the Amazon Fresh store should be interesting when I present this to him/her. Guess they have properly-sized boxes for returns of this nature.

Great for beds that you can’t use rails on
We have an old water bed so you can’t put the other type with the rails. This works great easy to use great price.

Not too big so still able to get in and out of bed
My Mom is in a nursing home and we needed something simple to keep her in bed. It was easy to assembly, stable and the size worked for getting in and out as needed.
