Salomon Men's Kalalau Shoe

this is my second pair of footwear from salomon. the first was a pair of 3d gtx hikers that i absolutely love, so i thought i'd try some lighter shoes for casual use. it took only one evening of wearing them before getting a good feeling for the shoes, and i have to say i mostly love them!it took a bit of puzzled wondering, before i found the tuck-away lace pocket (it's in the top of the tongue), and i don't really like using it for the extra loop of shoelace because it tends to dig into the top of my foot a bit. so i let the extra shoelace flop around on the top of the shoe, which is not nearly as annoying as it may sound. the lace setup allows me to slip the shoes on and off without adjusting the lace clip, which is nice for speedy getaways. and these things are LIGHT! both shoes together weigh less than one shoe of my last pair of sneakers.the only issue i have with these shoes is the arch support. there's just too much of it! i feel like i'm putting a lot of weight directly onto the arch support of the shoe. this doesn't really affect my stride or balance, but i feel that additional pressure and it gets a little annoying after several hours. a little moving around usually relieves this, but sitting still for long periods causes my feet to feel like they're bundled a little too tight, even with the laces set loose enough to slip the shoes on and off.i only paid $36 for this pair of shoes, so i wasn't expecting a mircale. however, for what i paid, i'm still very impressed with their quality, weight, and design. can't believe i got such a good pair of shoes for under $40!

This is my second pair of these shoes. The first pair, I was provided poor fitment information from another website, so I ordered a size bigger than needed (I would have only gone a half-size bigger, but it's tough to find a 12.5). I didn't return them because I only paid like, $35 for them and I wore them for about a year. When those started to wear out, i was ready to re-buy them but at the correct size. I would have preferred a color besides black/black, but they still look good, and are pretty subdued in the looks department.Super comfortable, soft, cushioned sole and insole. Not really designed for running, they're a phenomenal travel shoe. Easy on/off thanks to the Salomon closure system, and exceptionally comfortable for long days spent schlepping around a foreign city. I feel like I could wear these shoes for 16 hours straight.Sadly, it doesn't appear that Salomon are releasing an updated version of it, but that's life. Get em while you can.

I bought a pair of these a month or so earlier and liked them so much I had to have another pair. These shoes are cushion-y without being sponge-y. When I first tried them on I thought there was no way they would give me the support I need for being on my feet and walking all day, but they do. These 2 pair of shoes have made every other shoe in my wardrobe obsolete. Both pair were sold and shipped by Amazon from ther KY fulfillment center and I got them in 3 days. I would give 6 stars if they had that many!PS, beware of buying anything from Activeinstinct. I bought a pair of shoes from them through Amazon and I thought I would never get them. It took them 6 days just to ship. I didn't like the shoes and wanted to return them. Cost me 9 bucks! No free returns. You can usually sift thru the sellers and find someone better to buy from. They're in England and one of the emails I got from them said my stuff might be on a boat!

I love these Solomon's. They are light weight (that's the one thing that attracted me to them), but they are comfortable to wear. The unique shoestring idea is brilliant! Now that I've had some time to break them in, they fit better. Initially, I had read that these were, in general, larger than expected, but I found these shoes to be just a little more tight. However, that is not a problem at this point. They stretched out to fit my foot nice. The arch is good. The only unusual thing is the left shoe heel seems to be a little larger (like a small lump) than the right, which fits perfectly. This might work out as well. These are my summer walking shoes and should give me many years of comfort using them.

If anyone needs new sneakers I would highly HIGHLY recommend these. I bought my first pair of Salomon shoes in Spain in 2010 (not this style), they lasted five years (and are technically still wearable, they're just stinky) and bought these to replace them. They're super comfortable and have this quick tie deal so you don't have to actually tie your shoes. I wear them to work and I never have sore feet even after standing/walking all day. They're made of some kind of moisture wicking fabric junk like some athletic apparel is. My feet don't get sweaty in them ever. They are literally amazing.

supplied insoles are very narrow and have a very high arch too. honestly i've never seen insoles shaped the way the these are... i replaced with a low profile insole that has a low arch support. completely changed the fit and feel of the shoe. these are great looking shoes, even better in person. they don't look cheap at all ;) very breathable and light weight but still provide decent support. you can feel the breeze on your feet :) they fit a half size small. i normally wear a 10 and these fit more like a 9.5. other Solomon's i have fit somewhat large, so i guess its just model by model with this shoe maker...

This may be the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Very light, and well ventilated.I've always loved Salomon hiking shoes for their grip and comfort. I must admit, I bought this pair because of the brand. I wasn't expecting it to be this great. Sizing is standard with all my other pairs. The quicklace tightens the show evenly, without "choking" at my ankle. The shoe is very very light, and it doesn't impede natural movement. The sole is soft, without being too tactile.Overall, I'm very happt with this purchase.However, I will revisit this review after a few months to give feedback on durability.

Having owned many Salomon shoes this is a bit of a shock. The inner sole is not level and drops about 6mm halfway towards the toes as if there is a step, which when you look at the underside of the inner sole you realize there is. Very uncomfortable and not as described. I have returned them for a refund and would have sworn they were fakes if they hadn't come from a reputable trader. Not good and not usual superb Salomon quality

Watch the sizing with these, had Salamon shoes before but these are slightly small for the marked size (and no my feet have not grown!) so have given to my son and ordered again 1/2 size larger as the shoes is great apart from the size issue

other than that sizes too small (you need at least half size bigger than usual) they was just bulletproof.

Nice shoe, in theory but not much arch support. Having owned other pairs of Salomon boots/shoes I also found that these fit a little smaller that others with the toe not being as rounded. This resulted in my little toe being a bit squashed.Returned shoes and went with another brand

I'm thrilled with these shoes, they're so comfy and they fit like gloves. the lacing system is really good too

Little on the small side

Habe diese Schuhe jetzt ein zweites Mal geordert (nur in anderer Farbe), da sie perfekt passen, sehr leicht sind, angenehme Trageeigenschaften besitzen und auch recht gut aussehen. Ich nutze sie sowohl beim "Bummeln" in der Stadt, als auch für längere, über mehrere Stunden andauernde Wanderungen (auch im Gebirge). Sie machen schon mehrere Jahre ohne sichtbaren Verschleiß alles mit und wir vertragen uns blendend: ich schwitze nicht und sie drücken nicht. Gern empfehle ich diesen Schuh weiter.

Ein sehr sehr schöner leichter Schuh, den man(n) zu fast allem tragen kann. Mein Mann trägt seit Jahren Salomon Sportschuhe in Größe 45 1/3 und auch diese Größe ist kontant geblieben. Sie lassen sich schnell mal mit einem Microfaserlappen reinigen und unter der Sohle bleibt nicht viel hängen, dank des relativ flachen Profils.

dieser Schuh ist genau das was ich erwartet habe. Er ist leicht zu tragen, wiegt gerade mal 250 Gramm, der Schuh kaum zu spüren. Ich hoffe nur, daß der Name Salomon, das hält wofür ich diese Marke halte. Habe mich zum ersten mal, für diese Marke entschieden. Werde sehen wie er sich in einem halben Jahr tragen lässt! Ya sabía la talla y me quedan perfectos. Envío premium en un día. Son muy cómodos y resistentes. El cierre va genial y son muy transpirables. Yo los uso para diario y perfectos

War soweit alles voll in Ordnung! Leider war der Schuh zu klein, obwohl ich diese Größe immer kaufe. Habe nun mal eine Anfrage zwecks Umtausch gestellt und warte erst einmal ab. Würde gerne eine Nummer größer kaufen - Warten wir es einmal ab! :-)
