This is great little rack. It's solid, sturdy and easy to assemble. The markings on the front and rear rails for RU location are clear and highly visible. The adjustable depth is a great addition. I set mine up for 24" depth, as it sits right next to my desk. The gear I run in it isn't super deep, so that worked out great for me. It comes with all the hardware you need to assemble, as well as a sufficient amount of cage nuts and M6 screws so you likely won't need to supply your own for the first 6-8 devices you'll mount. I did find a couple of the nuts used for assembly had some resistance when initially threading them. There were enough in the bag that I didn't have to mess with forcing the threads and just used one of the other nuts. Not a big deal since there were plenty of extras. I cut some furniture pads/floor protectors to stick on the lower base, so it won't scratch my wood floor if I move it around. As others have mentioned, it is made of aluminum, but it's a good grade of aluminum so doesn't make it feel flimsy. When I mounted a Cisco 2921 router in it, I could see the front rails deflecting just a tad from carrying all the weight on just the front rails. Keep in mind it's a heavy 2U router that is about 18" deep and no rear support. All in all, it's a great rack, high quality, and fits my needs perfectly. I even made a nice oak top for mine so I have a place to put more of my tech clutter!

Update on 1/11/26: We have now had this rack for many years and have continued to expand out our network. We now have several servers (1U & 2U) mounted, our communications equipment for Voip, Fiber equipment, Patch Panels, and a host of more robust Ubiquiti equipment. The included is from when we were upgrading some equipment and does not include additional hardware that is currently in the rack. I ordered this rack for a combination home/small business setup on our property. We were in the process of expanding our network and decided we should get something a little more suited to the task. It needed to be easy to assemble for 1 person, provide for a wide array of equipment, and provide enough room for future expansion. This rack did not disappoint. I was able to get it assembles in a little over 1hr (alone) and maneuver it into its final resting place (again, alone). I had some doubts about its construction as I was putting it together, but once everything was screwed in and tightened, those concerned went away. Immediately I was able to get an older 24 port DLink switch, a shelf, Ubiquiti 24 port POE switch, and Ubiquiti NVR into the rack with no issues (all 1U pieces of equipment). I've work with plenty of networking equipment and have had to deal with mobile racks in the past, so I was vary happy with the ease in which I was able to get this rack put together and the equipment up and running. If you are looking for a sturdy rack, with room for expansion, is fairly easy to put together and maneuver, and comes in at a decent price, I can confidently recommend this one.

Happy with it. Chimp-simple to assemble, and nicely finished. Not like other racks I’ve bought that have had sharp edges or impossible angle to put a driver and wrench on to assemble. Appreciate the inch-spacing on the horizontal pieces. Competitive pricing sealed the deal, and weight capacity seems nicely situated between the cheapo racks that can’t handle anything and the pricey ones that can but are too industrial for my use.

This rack is a VERY good option for the money and will satisfy all but the most hardcore home enthusiast. I was definitely worried due to the materials (aluminum construction) and price point, but lo and behold, this thing is quite good. I had high standards because I use telco-grade cabinets at data centers for work, and I wanted something cheaper - but still effective and compatible - for home. This product did not disappoint. Installation was very easy and the instructions (if you need them) are good. I wound up disagreeing with the order of installation and doing it differently, but the pictures made it clear what the final product needs to look like. If you have even a modicum of DIY in your blood, you will have no issues installing the rack. You will love the adjustable depth this product offers. Some of my servers are close to 27" deep (Dell R630s) and very heavy, but this rack can handle them with ease. Upon inspection, the notches are properly measured and marked according to the telco standard. Compatibility is 100% identical to my data center cabinets at work and there were no unwelcome surprises here. They are cut precisely, and if you use high-quality rack nuts, there is zero wiggle as you insert and screw heavy items in. To be as transparent as possible: the rack nuts that come with this product are low-quality and should not be used for anything heavy. They have too much give and flex, and with heavy items, they may rotate or fall out. It's irritating that they cut corners on something like this which probably impacts the price only very very minimally. Please do yourself (and your safety, and your equipment) a favor, and buy telco-grade nuts. Amazon has many good options for a low price. They will fit into the notches and hold fast. This rack is surprisingly well-balanced and sturdy when upright. It doesn't wobble and the feet provide ample support, even when you slide servers out on their rails. You DO need to be very careful about two main things: 1) install on a FLAT SURFACE. You can NOT use a rack such as this, which is very high, on a non-flat surface if you intend to load it up with significant weight, unless you bolt it in. Even then, your variance must be minimal. 2) Bear in mind counterweight if you're sliding out multiple heavy servers at the same time and have not bolted this rack to the floor. Common sense, right? Just be careful. I have a concrete floor and will be eventually drilling and bolting it in, but I wanted to stage everything first due to the permanent nature of bolting. I was able to easily install Dell Ready Rails and Supermicro rails with absolutely zero issue. I have 1U and 2U servers sliding effortlessly in and out, as well as patch panels, switches, and other gear. Everything fits perfectly. Very pleased. UL has rated this rack for 750 lbs, and the British standard has rated it for 900 lbs. I am not sure why there is this much difference, but getting to 750 lbs. isn't hard on a 42U rack if you have a lot of equipment and intend to use all of the slots. Still, given what it's made of and the price point, 750 lbs. is a welcome surprise and appreciated. For home use, this weight limit offers plenty of headroom. DO NOT EXCEED the weight ratings, even if you bolt it to the floor. I am currently at around 350 lbs. and there is plenty of room for more equipment and weight. 4 stars instead of 5, you ask? There are two issues. One is the aforementioned quality of the nuts packaged in with this rack. They need to do better there, because it is a safety issue. The only other issue - and for the price you probably can't expect more - is the inherent flex of the aluminum. While it makes installation easy and makes moving the rack easy, it will not be able to support very very heavy gear on just the two front posts without a little sag, unless you are using rails and can use all 4 posts. For example, newer Cisco Catalyst switches are very heavy. If you use mounting ears, install the ears set back a bit towards the rear, which means the front of your switch will protrude a bit more than in a real data center. Alternately, install a solid item, such us a server using all 4 posts and rails, under heavy items using only 2 posts. Another thing you may notice is that you can tilt the rack slightly leftwards and rightwards as you work. It is not a major concern, just be mindful of the give when you are installing. The more heavy equipment you add, the less of a concern the left and right lean is, because the equipment provides stability. One technique is to space out some of your gear, if you can, at the low, medium, and high points of the rack. Highly recommended for a home enthusiast looking for something affordable and compatible!! It's almost like the "real thing!"

Very easy to change the size and very robust. It is easy to add or remove hardware but only needs one tool. It is very functional with how it looks and open for airflow.

When looking for rack, either full price or on ebay. This was still good value for money. The only thing i have added is a mdf panel to the top so i could add a monitor to the top. The Rack comes in kit form and can be built within about 20 mins

Great frame, but better instructions would be nice.

Took about 30 to 45 minutes to assemble the rack myself. It holds all my equipment and feels pretty sturdy once everything is secured in there. Some of the beams arrived bent at the end from the transport but that was easy enough to repair with a pair of pliers and mallet.

This is a great unit for a home lab. Took a little while to setup but works perfectly. Currently being used for a storage server/virtualisation and some music studio gear
