I don't have a long-term look at the effectiveness of these, but given that the packaging stays sealed, there shouldn't be any problem. Just remember to securely seal the package after using some otherwise they'll all absorb atmospheric air. I resealed the ones I didn't use in a food vacuum sealing bag.

I wish that these things had and indicator to indicate they had been exposed to oxygen too long to be any good. They don't so I never know how well my food is protected. Odd, the package came with and eye that changed color the minute I opened the package but the product itself does not. If I were absolutely certain the things were working or had some way to determine that they weren't I'd have given a 5 star review. Next order I'll be looking for some with indicators.

Price point is fantastic. I still use these as my exclusive oxygen absorber in all our doggy treats.

a great many of these don't seem to work- I have had to re-open several jars of my food stores and there is no evidence that they had "vacuum sealed", the lids came right off. I keep the unused packets well sealed in a mason jar and they are still quite soft when I get some out, but once I place one-two- or even three into a jar of food for storage and seal it, sometimes the lid does not even pull down. Unless I am willing to open ALL my jars, there is no way for me to tell if my emergency stores will be any good when the need arises. I would not buy again from this company.
