The Fredrik Backman Collection: A Man Called Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry, and Britt-Marie Was Here

I loved all three of these books and would definitely recommend this as a gift. Backman shows great range in his writing across the novels, from young girls to retired men, I was moved and related to each character. Bought this set after getting A Man Called Ove. I gifted the first copy to my 58-year old father and got this collection for myself.

I had heard so much about A MAN CALLED OVE that when it was chosen for my book discussion group, I decided to purchase the three-book set. We loved that book so much that we also chose to read the second book, BRITT-MARIE WAS HERE, which we also enjoyed. I didn't care as much for the third book, MY GRANDMOTHER ASKED ME TO TELL YOU SHE'S SORRY. (FYI - there is an excellent film of OVE with subtitles with an amazing character playing OVE. I with they would make a movie of BRITT-MARIE because she is definitely a memorable character.

It’s impossible to describe these books (I took a chance and got the whole collection)- they must be experienced. Heartwarming, heartbreaking, funny, quirky-these stories keep you hooked from the beginning. Each chapter brings new surprises. I read them in order beginning with A Man Called Ove. I did not want that book to end-I think it’s my favorite of them all, but I was not disappointed in the others. They are all wonderful!

I've recently become a Fredrik Backman fan, after reading 'My grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry". I've read each of the books in this set, and went back and purchased more Fredrik Backman books. He's a fascinating character sketch writer, and I thoroughly enjoy his books. They are quick, but satisfying reads.

I liked all these books. The humor, sadness, and uniqueness of the characters kept me reading for days.

Ove was the best book I have read in years, Britt Marie was next. Ove should never go away, he just keeps you interested with his quirky ways. I will probably read this book over, more than once over the years.

A Man Called Ove is one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life...the writer has a way to make these characters come to life. I have found myself thinking of these characters long after the book was finished. I cried like a baby at the end. I highly recommend!!
