Bought this for my Canon Mark II because I lost mine after years of using the battery expansion pack. This fits my camera well and does the job.

This battery door works just as well as any original 5D mkII battery door that's still intact. If you're expecting a spring-loaded door that pops open when hitting the latch, you'll be disappointed, but just about every camera- no matter how high-end, will have issues with this particular component after a few months of daily use. In any case, it's nice to be able to use a single battery as opposed to the battery grip. The 5D was not designed to be lightweight, but a single LP-E6 battery can usually last long enough for most use cases. The battery grip is best used with an plug-in tether in one compartment and a battery in the other as a backup when working in a studio.

It fits, but barely. I have a canon 5D mark 2. Not sure what is wrong with this, but it’s just not well made. I ordered 2 of them. One I couldn’t get fitted into the camera because the clip was not able to slide back while holding it into place. The other one I got onto the camera easily, but couldn’t reopen the battery cover without breaking it open. Total waste of money.

The item fit my EOS 5D Mark II perfectly, and was easy to clip into place. It isn't as refined as a Canon product, and should not be stamped 'Canon,' but is certainly fits and has no issues opening or closing. I got this because I purchased a used camera on eBay along with the battery grip. When I took the grip off, I realized I could not use it safely (or at all without the interlock engaged) without a battery door. So this low cost solution was a big save-- thanks!

Ordered for a used 5D MK II that came with no battery door because the previous owner had always used the camera with a battery grip. This replacement snapped right in and works perfectly. No issues. I would recommend this product to anyone in similar circumstances.

It does close and stay closed. It’s a bit tough to open but it doesn’t need to be opened very frequently. Overall this door met my needs.

LAME! This battery cover is a lame waste of money. It doesn't quite fit right and may be the reason the battery door will not open! I have to use a butter knife to pry the door open. I stupidly lost the OG battery cover because I have always used a battery grip... always. But now my shoulders are jacked up and I can no longer handle the weight of my cameras with battery grips, hence wanting to reinsert the battery door. Well as it stands right now, I may be forced to use grip because once the battery is inserted, I can no longer remove it or replace it without having to locate something to pry the door open when I need to change the battery. So yeah, this is useless, poorly made junk. ***UPDATE***. As frustrated as I am about this door not working, I updated my review and rating because the customer service has been top notch! They reached out to me immediately after my review and we have been going back and forth trying to figure out the problem. They have offered a refund or replacement. I am opting for the refund as I am not convinced a replacement would have different results. But we’ll see. If I opt to replace the door and it works, I will update my review accordingly. But I greatly appreciate great customer service!
