The only issue I've ever had with my Dyson was the battery life. This fixed it. Really cool gadget. Works exactly as advertised. Built well. Looks good. Super happy.

I was disappointed that to use my V8 Dyson I would need to replace the battery and with the OEM battery costing around $130, aftermarket in the $40 plus range with little confidence in the aftermarket version. I found this adapter for less than $30, I’m a woodworker/property maintenance guy, hate to throw a tool away that still has some use (wasteful)! I had 8 Dewalt 20V 5 amp batteries in my shop. I Installed the adapter in about 15 minutes with only three screws and I’m good to go. It works fine on both power levels. My wife had purchased another Dyson cordless stick vacuum for the house, now I have one just for the shop. Happy camper!

Easy to instal and working

Our Dyson Animal 7 battery died a few years ago. Charge lasts less than 5 SECONDS. My husband has been begging me to buy this adapter since he already had the DeWalt rechargeable batteries for other tools we use around the house. The adapter arrived yesterday; he hooked it up and used the vacuum for OVER 30 MINUTES!! Happy Husband, Happy Wife! LOL! Also, hubby says, "Three screws to remove the Dyson battery and three screws to add the adapter. The DeWalt battery will remove easily every time you need to recharge it."

This works well with 4 ah Dewalt batteries in my Dyson V8. My initial impression is around 25% more life than the original battery. This does NOT work on max setting with a smaller, 1.5 ah battery. If you use max settings and have the smaller Dewalt batteries then I'd avoid this. Otherwise I'm looking forward to having swappable batteries for my Dyson! I'd give it 5 stars but the seller should indicate the need for larger batteries.

Work as it should!!

CRAP ... It does not stay shut - slide in properly. The rail on the inside is very weak. Using the DeWalt battery definitely makes your Dyson V8 vacuuming experience better and lasts longer. however, IF the adaptor doesn't slide in correctly, it is not worth the changes. It happens because you are using the battery on and off to clean your floors. If you don't clean daily it might last longer but I seriously doubt it as you can see in photos. Also, using the DeWalt battery definitely makes it heavier to use the Dyson and it is very bulky. I would say that If you have disability for holding things this is not for you. I did not see or feel any excessive heat coming from the battery or the Dyson itself so that was a good sign. As for the value for what it cost, the answer would be it is a cheaply made product not worth the money. Hence, waste of money cause it broke literally ONE month later. I'm out of the money and product because it was purchases on Jan. 5 and today is Feb 5th and it broke all the way off and can't be repaired.

I read the negative reviews about this item and almost did not get it. I'm actually glad that I did. Some of the positive reviews say the vacuum's high suction does not work with this item either. Both are wrong. We have used it steadily for a few hours, on high, with zero issues and the battery is still fully charged. The battery is a 20V 5AH DeWalt battery that came with my hedge trimmer. It works amazingly. We never could use the high setting with the factory battery. It would die almost instantly. Now we can. Updated to add video. We have the Dyson V7 and this works amazingly.

Fits perfectly and now the Dyson lasts 30 minutes instead of 2. I’ve got loads of dewalt batteries so I just swap them out when they are out of charge. Highly recommended to improve your Dyson.

I bought this Dewalt to Dyson V8 adapter for my Dyson V8 Animal. I use dewalt branded 5AH batteries and get almost double the battery life of the original battery when it was new. Upon pulling the trigger a green light appears and the vacuum powers up, until the battery is almost depleted in which case the led turns red letting you know when to change the battery (you can still use the battery life indicator on the battery itself). One thing to note is that the original battery had a reed switch so that when the dustbin was open it wouldnt let the motor run, this adapter doesn't have that but just dont go pulling the trigger when the storage bins open. And no you can't charge it with the original dyson charger anymore, you have to charge the drill batteries as normal with a dewalt charger.

Does the job as described, works well with my Dyson DC59 MUCH LONGER BATTERY LIFE , then just swap out with other dewalt battery

With this adapter I can use bigger batteries so I can use it longer than 15 minutes! Great when you cleaning the car!
