Better and more consistent seasoning of cast iron
I have a small collection of cast iron skillets and pots. Some old, some newer, some of really high quality. I try to strip and re-season them about once per year to keep my pots and pans lasting for a while, and to cut down on some of the grime that inevitably collects. Traditionally I used oil and got mixed results. It worked well with the higher-quality pans, but not so well with my more economical pans which are still great, but have a little bit more porous surfaces. Upon a recommendation, I picked up this product which has a waxy consistency (it is partly made of beeswax). I wasn't sold at first. This is harder to work with than simple oil, and I had to put a lot of effort into putting a thin coating on every pan. However, after baking the pans, I feel the results are significantly better than oil alone. So now I don't think I'll use anything else. I'm not an expert, but I feel like the advantage of the beeswax-based product is simply how well it sticks. I feel like the application process gives a better and thinner coating. I certainly used less of this than I might with oil. But I also feel like it's poised and ready to provide a more even seasoning across the entire pan, including the outside. And it's the outside I think Im most pleased with. Through general use, I feel the inside of the pan tends to re-season itself as it is regularly exposed to fats and oils. But the outside is where I find the seasoning wears off over time. After several weeks of regular use, I'm finding that the outside of the pan is more anti-stick than the same pans seasoned with only oil. Overall, I feel this product just gave me a better and more consistent seasoning. Highly recommended for anyone looking to protect their pans and provide a better cooking experience.

Great seasoning compound
Works fantastic for seasoning my cast iron pans. I used just cooking oil before and it’s night and day difference.

Excellent Product
Works great! I only cook with cast iron skillets and have used the Lodge spray in the past. My husband and I both prefer the Lancaster Cast Iron Seasoning over the spray on seasoning. There is no smell or taste and it is easier to control the amount you apply to the cast iron. We haven’t noticed any food sticking to our skillets since using this seasoning. Good product, good price and easy application. This is my new go to for taking care of my cast iron.

Saving my old cast iron skillets
I had always used oil I had on hand. This had instructions, was easy to use & worked well. Reasonably priced as you only use a small amount each time.

Cast iron seasoning.
This Lancaster restore and condition is a great way to keep my cast iron cookware looking good and working like cast iron should work. This is a multiple repurchase item.

Great seasoning, easy to use
I have cast iron pans that were my grandmother's and had never used anything besides crisco on them. I decided I needed some real seasoning and got this. I was very satisfied at the ease of use and end result after using this seasoning and would highly recommend.

Great product
Great product to use for seasoning cast iron pans. A little goes a long way and creates a terrific layer on the surface of the pan. Much better than an oil alone.

It works - but this is a TINY size
I mistakenly assumed this would be about the size of normal size of shoe polish. Wrong. Look at the weight - it's only 2 ozs. That's only a smidge more than 2" in diameter. The instructions say to apply this after every use of a cast iron pot. If you did that, it would be gone pretty quick. I'm sure this works, but I'm not sure it's much better than using normal cooking oil to season your pan. Good quality but poor value.

Works well as a primer and after cleaning. Best applied to warm carbon steel and gives a pleasant smell and protects against rust if storing away.
