This could be the right stick for you if.....
If you want a light-ish arcade stick with clamshell design for modding access, built in handles for picking up off the ground or tournament ease of use, USB wire organizer inside the case, good stock buttons/lever, native PS5 support, this is for you. To emphasize the buttons and lever being good, I'm used to either Sanwas or low profile mechanical buttons and these feel great. They took a bit of getting used to however. I disliked them at first and was already shopping online for replacements on the first few weeks I had the Hori Alpha. Thankfully I stuck with them and now realize why people even bothered swapping these in to other sticks. The case design is noticeably plastic which puts off a lot of people but it's not a negative to me. Makes for a lighter case, and looks somewhat retro. It opens up for modding and storage for whatever you need to bring with you. The cable has an organizer built in but it's not detatchable. The extra buttons are on the top of the stick and not on the side which I prefer. Much easier for me to reach rather than side ones like on the Daija. Speaking of the Daija I returned that stick for this one because of the wrist rest being uncomfortable, the Alpha's design fixes that problem for me. The Hori Alpha is the most ergonomic stick I've owned besides my leverless. The native PS5 support is the icing on the cake, most tournaments use PS5 for SF6 so it's convenient that I don't have to use an adapter for compatibility. I haven't modded it yet but I plan to in the future. For now it's a great controller as it is.

I really like this stick.
This will be the third arcade stick that I currently own. With a few others in the past. I really like this stick to the point it may become my main stick, over the Victrix Pro FS, and Obsidian. I originally bought this stick Just to have a noir layout stick to see if I liked it and planned to use it as a backup for friends who came over for sets. Never using Hori parts and reading how everyone replaces them with Sanwa parts later on I've never attempted to even use them. Bought a pre-modded Rap4 from arcade shock back in the day with all Sanwa parts on it already that's the only Hori experience I had was basically just the shell. Anyway, I'm surprised this stick is getting less than great reviews, so far my experience has been fantastic, people say it feels too light, I actually find the weight to feel perfect in my lap. The product is made of plastic and Plexi but it feels Very sturdy, no complaints in quality from my point of view, also the ease of access to the interior for modding is great, I've stick swapped and button swapped multiple sticks, and sometimes its a pain, there is plenty of space and ease of access to swap parts on this stick. I find the price to be fair, it's the same as any other top-end stick on the market, and I feel this is a top-end product. It has all the features any other top-end stick has other than having metal as part of the build, but again to me the weight is there and it feels well constructed so it doesn't need it. Another Plus to this stick is the easily changeable artwork. Anyway, I originally bought this as a backup/extra for friends as well as an easier plug/play device since it's an XBOX stick instead of PlayStation. Turns out I like Hyabusa parts more than Sanwa and the Noir layout is different, but I don't mind it so far, and this is going to be my new main stick lol. For me I'm hitting inputs cleaner I don't know what it is lol. SO yeah I recommend this stick if you like Hayabusa parts and noir if you've never tried Hyabusa parts, and you like the look of the shell, and artwork/want to change artwork easily while having the ability to mod buttons and stick easily buy it. TLDR IDK how to do reviews. Stick feels Nice, the buttons feel good, the weight feels good in the lap, the stick feels sturdy, never used Hayabusa parts or Noir layout but I like more than Sanwa. Bye

Good stick, super easy to access inside
bought this stick to replace my HORI Real Arcade Pro 3 that I have been using since the PlayStation 3. I loved the size of that stick, was pretty hesitant to order this being as it is a different model than the RAP but I loved the feature of easy access to the inside of the stick that this offers so decided to pull the trigger. Overall size of this stick is large, pretty similar to the RAP sticks. It does have a much thinner profile though. The whole thing is made of plastic and is pretty lightweight, but seems sturdy enough. I was hoping it might be a metal frame but figured it would be plastic, but the listing didn't say one way or the other. It seems fine though. To access the inside of the stick is literally just sliding a little lever over and it just swings open. The inside of the stick has all the buttons color code and includes a legend in case you get them mixed up. This is really awesome and a huge upgrade from having to take apart my old stick to change out the buttons. This stick has the feature of replaceable artwork, but that is not as easy to do. You have to take out eight screws and also remove all the buttons in order for the face plate to pop off and allow you to change it out. They have the artwork template for this stick available for download on the HORI website. The companion app they talk about in the listing shows as only available for the Xbox Series S/X and the HORI website says that as well. I found that if you go to the Windows Store from Windows 10 and search for "HORI Device Manager for Xbox Series X Series S" you can install the Xbox app on your PC to use it. It lets you customize the button mappings for the 4 profiles on the stick. The profile doesn't let you map all the buttons though which is strange. You can only change the behavior of the stick (analog/dpad) and remap the two right most buttons (LB/LT). I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you remap everything. Cord is very long, 10'-12'. It has a breakaway point by the USB plug in case someone trips on it. The hardware button lock on the top of the control is cool also, disables all the top inputs/start button so you don't accidentally pres them during a game. I got this primarily to use on PC and overall I am happy with it. I do wish it was a tad heavier, but that is just personal preference.

Very good stick, a little expensive compared to similar quality items
First off, just want to say that as far as fighting sticks go, this has a lot going for it. Quality parts right out of the box, well constructed, easy to mod, AND it doesn't just work on certain games. Tested tons of fighting games as well as common things such as Metal Slug, to uncommon ones such as Castlevania. All the games I tested worked perfectly fine. Assuming I didn't just miss the ones that don't work, this stick is already better than 80% on the market. Two hundred is a bit steep though if you ask me. For one hundred dollars more, you can get something like the Victrix. Though, I wouldn't recommend you get your hopes up if you're in the market for an Xbox/PC version. It's a super quality stick and it is feature heavy, comparatively, but it is just plastic. It may not bother you though. It doesn't really bother me. I was worried initially because I didn't want it to feel cheap and light. I am happy to report that it doesn't feel "cheap" OR too light. I've certainly bought and made heavier sticks but this is just fine whether you want it on a table or your lap. Also really prefer the plastic with rubber pads on my legs as opposed to steel with rubber pads. I dunno, just my preference. I was actually really trying to find a Victrix for Xbox, but that seems to just be a pipedream at this point. Those that have them don't want to part with them and the company that makes them doesn't give a crap about pleasing customers. So, instead of bending over backwards to give them my money, I just picked up another one of these Horis. So, in closing: Very good stick. Not cheap or too light. Functional in many games; not just specific ones. Easy to open up and mod. Yadda yadda yadda. When it comes to sticks, you could do WAY worse and spend just as much money. Edit: Also worth noting that the cord is not detachable. Not a problem as it's securely fastened to the chassis and has a break away end on the console side of the cable.

A Great Arcade stick for the Xbox series X!
I Love ❤️ It! Lightweight, easy to store, buttons are comfortable, joystick 🕹 is a good size. My only problem is I wish I could change the faceplate.

Responsive quality fight stick.
Overall very pleased with this fight stick. Stick is very responsive - has a four way gate (not octagon), ball joystick similar to other tournament fight sticks. All inputs come out nicely (dp, qcf, qcb, etc.) with no perceptible lag. Weight is good (you can read the official stats on the amazon description-- but feels like the old mad cat tournament nightsticks in terms of weight).. I don't think there are turbo functions on buttons (which I don't use anyhow), but there is a lock button to prevent you from hitting certain buttons accidentally. It also has the PS5 home button, share button, option button, etc.. The storage solution for the cable is a bit unusual - you have to open the stick up and wrap it around an area that sits right next to all the exposed wires). But the stick opens up easily and as long as you don't roughly mess with the wires, storing the 10ft cable inside the stick isn't a problem. You can swap out the artwork on the top stick easily as well but it looks great just out of the box. I purchased it because I just wanted a quality fight stick that cooperates easily with my PS5 and it does the job nicely. If you have an old PS4 fight stick, there are some games that don't support legacy PS4 sticks--and you have to shop around for an adapter or hope the software developer of your game will support legacy sticks.. But right now this a great fight stick that works with the PS5 without needing the software (like SFV) to support legacy controller functions.

First stick I've ever owned
I grew up playing in arcades figured I'd buy a stick for fun. Great product, if you question the quality, don't. Hori has been around the block for a long time and it's superb. Would recommend anyone to get the stick honestly. I haven't delved too deep into customizing with fancy buttons and artwork yet but I intend to and it seems extremely easy to customize. Additional info: I've been modifying the stick over the past few months. Findings: Seimitsu PS-14 30mm Snap In Pushbuttons do NOT fit perfectly. I can still use them, but they don't snap in like the buttons included with the stick (HORI's Hayabusa line). When I push them into place, they fit fine but the actual snap in doesn't engage. Presumably because the distance between the button housing itself and the snap in mechanic is too short on the Seimitsu meaning it just doesn't engage. They're still securely in place and when you're using the arcade stick, you're pushing down toward the housing, so it doesn't even matter they don't click in. Just something I figured I'd point out if you're a stickler for perfection. If you're looking to change the lever itself: I've tried searching for countless hours to find the exact measurements of the stock lever itself (Hayabusa I presume) but HORI doesn't have the measurements anywhere that I could find...so I dismantled it myself and measured it. There is a chart online that most enthusiasts use to help them visualize the measurements of popular levers/brands, you can google "slagcoin joystick attributes" and click the first link. Toward the middle of the page you can find the chart and it's definitions. I will be using the terminology from that website to define the measurements of the Hayabusa lever. From handle to plate it's 35mm and from plate to base it's 35mm as well. Looking on twitter I saw someone saying they tried the LSX-NOBI-01 and it didn't fit within the housing of the HORI Alpha (the base of the lever would hit the bottom of the housing). The LSX-NOBI-01's plate to base is 43.7mm but it just barely didn't fit according to them (they had a video and it showed like barely 2mm too long based on what I could see). I plan on installing a Seimitsu LS-56 and in theory it should fit. The LS-56 measures at 38.5mm meaning it's a little longer than the Hayabusa lever but not nearly as long as NOBI's lever. I will update this review a third time after I install it. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite figure out a reliable way to perfectly measure the distance available within the housing if anyone was wondering. If you're looking to change out the lever I'd say stick with anything shorter than 41mm or less just to be safe. There is also a way to make more room apparently by mounting it using an SS plate. last edit: The LS-56-01 fits and plays wonderfully!

May not work with all games
Just because it is xbox DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL WORK ON OLDER FIGHTING TITLES i wanted to use this to simulate the OG arcade feel of the side scrolling fighting games. Well it doesnt recognize the controller. Mainstream games like Mortal Kombat 1 seem to have no issue using the controller. However I got this for other games so if youre like me hoping to play more retro titles its a gamble. Overpriced honestly but build seems to be more high end the weight was nice not too heavy, but also not cheap and flimsy. However since I cant use it for what I wanted having a $170 controller just sitting under my Xbox collecting dust is just a waste of money.
