Works great
I needed this for the extra drives I'm using for a software raid.Works perfectly - haven't had a single problem with it.

Works as intended
Turned my old pc into an old pc with a face lift. Allowed me to use an ssd with a motherboard too old to even know what that is. Barely any reduction in read speed. Extremely easy to install. No problems for over a year now.

Good way to add SATA ports
I neeed extra SATA ports, this PCI to SATA converter did the trickl, works well, no need to load drivers, windows 11 assigned drivers and it works great.

Annoying blue LED and sound, but otherwise works
EDIT: I've since discovered the sound is coming from a different component, so I'm putting another star back on this review and not planning to return it. The reason I thought it was from this card was it only happened when the card was active (the drive in question was plugged in to it) and the sound was perfectly timed with the LED light. So, still one point off because of the confusion the pointless LED caused.Original review:I was initially happy with this product as it was simple to install and just works for supplying the two extra, basic SATA connections my motherboard doesn't provide me. But soon after installation I noticed a couple annoyances I just can't live with:--There's a blue LED that blinks regularly on the card in a odd tempo (small annoyance)--The LED blinking on and off makes noise. Blinking on is a soft but audible small buzz, like someone touching the fan of your case with a brush for a split second, and blinking off is a louder 'click'.What's worse is these sometimes happen, sometimes not! So I can't tell if they are indicative of something wrong or what, as there was no manual and there is no company customer support to contact.Let's be real -- this is a cheap component we all like because it's simple and inexpensive. And normally I'm fine with the trade offs that sort of product has for some things. But I can't take the weird sounds and lights disrupting my peace of mind like they are.I may return this product if I can, and I will definitely replace it with something higher quality that doesn't blink and make unnecessary noise.

Drive read failures
I cannot recommend this device. I was using it in an Unraid server for about 6 months, with only a 1tb SSD attached to it. I began getting read errors on the drive, despite healthy SMART attributes, and it passed a full preclear test plugged into a different port.I switched this SATA card out for an HBA SAS card (with SATA converter connectors), and the drive immediately began working again. So, I just wouldn’t recommend it. From what I can tell, HBA SAS is the more recommended route, because those components are much higher quality (they’re designed for data centers), and many include breakout cables with SATA connectors. You can find plenty of them for only about $20 more than this, which is well worth the price for more reliability.Upon uninstalling the device, I also noticed the heat sink can detach relatively easily, which could be a component of the problems I had with it.

Worked with my truenas scale deployment.
Helped me add drives to my truenas deployment. Seems to have plenty of performance for that use case.

Just make sure you install the drivers.
This will run at gigabit speeds if you don't have the proper drivers. Once you do this nic works as intended. I've had fir over a year.
