For graphite and charcoal this is the best paper I have used so far. It shows great results for blending and adds contrast in sketches. If you are trying for first time go for it blindly.

The paper quality is great but it's slightly textured so smooth pencil shading and blending is not possible. It's still a good option for sketch work and semi-realistic drawings. This is actually my favorite drawing paper at the moment because the textured paper just holds graphite or colours better than smooth paper.

If you like pencil sketching, this is the paper you need.
