Very nice 200 amp fuse and holder, be careful the nuts aren't magnetic
Nice ANL fuse holder. I used this with 0 gauge wire and large copper lugs. In my case I was upgrading the factory alternator charge wire in my 6.0 Powerstroke, and wanted a fuse to prevent a fire. The fuse holder is very well made and durable. Using self tapping sheet metal screws I mounted this to the inside of my engine bay, the rubber boots are very large and fit the 0 gauge wire perfectly. One note: the nuts and washers are not magnetic, I learned this the hard way when I dropped them and couldn't grab them with my magnet. Had to take some parts off the truck to get to them.

Pro-tips to get this to work great!
I was pleased to see this thing is probably actually 400 amps. When I pushed 375 amps through it it got warm but the fuse didn't blow. The reason I say "probably" 400 amps is because I didn't blow the fuse but I never pushed it to say 500 amps just to be sure the fuse actually did blow, but looking at that quality of the fuse, it seems like it is a well made one and the thickness looks to be good enough to handle 400 amps I believe. There are a few things to make sure this thing works real good for you for a long time: Pro-tips: 1. When you get it, take out the fuse and put it back in to make sure it's seated perfectly plus you'll learn how this one works if you are unfamiliar with this type of fuse or rarely get a chance to mess with one. 2. Second, if you are installing this in a boat, RV, Toy Hauler, Van, or anything that moves and or jostles, use thread locker of some kind. Lok-tight works fine or any of the other name brands all work. Use the blue color, for gods sake don't use red or worse. You'll read horror stories of things coming loose and then a short and a bridge created by wires melting together and boom, fire. You can really save yourself a lot of headache by just adding some thread locker even though they do have lock washers, I personally like belt AND suspenders when it comes to things that can burn my RV to the ground. 3. As mentioned by others, the little cap doesn't really fit well. Some used zip ties but I did something different. I got some Velcro cable ties of the right length like you can find here on amazon, just search Multi-Colour-Management-Adjustable-Fastening-Multi-Purpose. I slipped two of these under the mounting block before screwing it down. Now the ties won't go any place and I am not cutting zip ties or trying to manipulate it out from under some other kind of permanent tie if I need to mess with the block. I just undo the velcro and bingo, the plastic cover comes off. Pro-pro-tip! To make this super trick, when I mounted the velcro ties, I didn't just go under the block, I screwed THROUGH the ties themselves by placing them under the holes where I sent the screws through. This means the velcro ties are held SOLID and will not move or get loose as my Toy Hauler or RV bumps around down dirt roads and the plastic cap is exactly where I set it no matter how much jarring it takes. Little bit of work up front and you'll never have to mess with this again unless you blow a fuse which is exactly the kind of dull reliability we want from these kinds of items.

Very solid
I bought this fuse for my battery system on my TT. It was solidly made and easy to install. I've not done any technical or destructive testing of course, but it seems a very good product.

Good product, but cover will fall off
Very robust terminals. Composite material should insulate well the high amperage passing through it. However, like other reviewers, I found that the cover will not stay on if this is mounted vertically. Simple solution though. I drilled a small hole in the angled base area, wide enough for a zip tie to pass through. I use a zip-tie to hold the cover on. Works fine.

Works well
Hope it stays that way.

Safe Fuse Holder Unlike certain others
I bought the Baomain ANL 350A Electrical Protection ANL Fuse holder on 2/25/2020 for installation in my Sprinter van. Not knowing any better, its use by other vanners inspired my choice. It came within a hair's breadth of causing a catastrophic fire in the van in March 2022. Image 1 attached shows the problem; the outgoing connection of the Baomain fuse holder had gotten loose in the normal bumps and shakes of the van during operation. As a result the connection produced an extremely high resistance when the Inverter was drawing current to produce 110v from my 600 amp hour bank of lithium ion house batteries. We estimate the heat at perhaps 700 degrees. Image 2 shows that the heat completely unseated the outgoing connection pin from the plastic base. Image 3 shows however that the fuse did not blow. When we examined the base it was to find that the plastic keeping the outgoing connection pin had melted down until only paper thin burnt carbon was insulating it from the frame of the van. Had that final layer of carbon flaked off a little, a closed loop between the positive and negative poles of the battery bank would have been created producing a battery explosion in less than a minute. Their are two fundamental flaws with the Baomain fuse holder. The first is that there is no way to use two wrenches to tighten the cables to the fuse pin (there is only a top nut, while the base is simply embedded in the plastic; tighten too much and you break the plastic. The second flaw is that there is completely inadequate insulation between the bottom of the connection pin carrying the huge current and the underside of the fuse holder; about 1/16th inch of plastic. If that heats up as it did in this case, it melts, the insulating layer gets damaged and catastrophe could ensue. We replaced the Baomain fuse holder with the Spartan Power Large ANL Fuse Holder in images 4-6. One sees in image 4 that there is a huge heavy composite base keeping the fuse well away from the base. Image 5 shows that you can crank the bolt down tight because you have access to a second bolt below it. Image 6 shows the completed repair with proper cover included. The Spartan Power Large ANL Fuse Holder is twice as expensive as the Baomain but a thousand times safer. Be warned!

This fuse holder is robust and was an excellent replacement for the originals used on my 1999 diesel pusher motorhome. I would purchase it again
